Hi, I bought a Clié N750C in Japan, I'm sure that is equivalent to N760C or N770C. The problem is the language, all the main programs are in japanesse, and it is incompatible with spanish ortography.

Anyone of you know how can I change the language?, I think that flashing is the only way but I don't know how to do it. Is there another way??

There is a pretty famous flash from a year or two ago to change it to english, that is what I am using now.

Why don't you just purchase JackSprat/JackFlash/JackSafe (http://brayder.com/) since you need to remove the old ROM out anyway. I don't know any other app that can replace OEM ROM other than those apps. Basically JackSprat is used to delete and make backup of old OEM ROM apps. That ROM backup is important in case you goof. JackFlash is used to install new OEM apps to the then empty FlashROM. JackSafe is used to enable the FlashROM apps to function the same way as the default OEM ROM apps after a hard reset. Brayder.com may be able to help you with supplying the english version of the OEM ROM backup since often their customer lost their OEM ROM backup by mistake and in dire need for one.

I used them to remove ROM apps that I don't need and able save about 1.5MB out of the FlashROM for putting apps that I do need.  The neat thing about putting apps in the Flash ROM is that they won't be deleted by a hard reset like those apps you put in RAM.

Thanks I'll try it, but someone told me that the japanesse version of Palm OS 4.1 takes all de ROM, these could be a problem to install Jack Flash, or I can execute JackFlash from the RAM??

JackFlash is like any other 3rd. party apps, where you can run it from RAM. Before you do any of that you may need to ask Brayder to see if they have the Spannish version of ROM Backup. I now they have English version, but not sure about the Spannish one.

I did it thanks, I'm waiting for reply from Brayder. I'll tell you when I can solve my problem. I didn't know anything about Brayder, I hope that is the better way to solve it. Thanks a lot for your help.

No sweat. Let us know if that works or you find some other way to do it. I'm sure there are others that would like to do the same.
