Has anyone purchased a refurbished T665C from Overstock.com or direct from Sony.com?
If so, does there appear to be any differences with a brand new unit?

I have purchased two T665Cs from BestBuy as open stock items. In both cases, the Clies were returns that had never been used. The software had not been opened, all information and warranty cards, and equipment were there (with stickers still on). It appeared that neither one had even been charged and/or turned on; these were probably gifts where the recipient wanted a clam-shell Clie and returned the items for exchanges (my guess).

So, this was like getting it new. You might consider this option, since it saves you quite a bit (I think it was 30-35% off their current price, and probably even more discount if they no longer carry T665Cs).

They will let you look through the box and inspect everything; make sure the various paperwork and guides are there, the hotsync/charge adapter, the cradle, the power supply, the cover, and the Clie, of course.

Later,
Jerry

Alright, got mine working. I had to re-register (was happycorepuppy), something weird happened to my previous registration. I guess it was my fault...works great now!

Make sure you let it charge all the way, then take it off the charger, and THEN turn it on :)

Sony lowered the price on refurbished T665C to $189.99 with free shipping. Looks like a pretty good deal. I bought a 615C a few months ago for $200 and rather wish I had a 665C instead.

Be wary...
I bought one from Overstock
and everything was fine.
A co worker bought one and didn't have the correct software with his.

I purchased a refurb T665 from Sony in Feb - no problems so far - LOVE it!! All software and accessories intact - registered and got some coupons to buy more stuff!

First, purchased a refurb T615 from Refurbdepot.com - in horrid shape - but no problem returning with 10% restock fee :-|

Yo,
I got mine two weeks ago for $189 at overstock.com . For me, the shipping was prompt (two full bussiness days) and it arrived in great shape. Plus you still get the sony discounts when u register your PDA. Hope this helps!

Mine from overstock registered just fine as new as well...even though it came in refurb packaging (no retail box).
