Is there any way to play WMA files on the TG50? I just purchased this model and found out that I could not play them. Is there some aftermarket software that will allow me to play my music? I do not want to reformat my entire library.
Thanks.

If you do not want to reformat your library. I guess there is no such player currently.
Correct me if I am wrong.

First, Microsoft seems will not release Windows Media Player for Palm OS becuase it does no good to them. Second, I would like to ask what do you mean by 'reformat library'?

He means he doesn't want to re-rip his music collection to MP3 (or maybe convert them to MP3, but that wouldn't be a good idea, since you'd lose quality). WMA are designed to lock you into using Microsoft products, just like the memory stick and Sony.

Well, actually there's one solution. I guarantee that you can view your WMA files in your handheld.
The solution is: buy a Pocket PC.

The developer has two choices: pay Microsoft $10K (I believe that's the figure) to license the WMA decoder, or find some programming workaround (possible, I'm sure, but why has no one done it yet?).

Forgive my ignorance...I just bought a 256 MS Pro for my TG50 and I cannot figure out how to download MP3s onto it. I've searched through the forums here but can't find any useful directions.
Help please.

If you are using the CLIE Audio Player, you need to use MS Import and place the files under the /PALM/PROGRAMS/MSAudio directory.
Alternatively I think you can run MS Import on the Palm, MS Export on the PC and drag the MP3 files onto MS Export and click install. (Haven't tried this way but I think it'd work :))
Best Rgds,
Steven
