So, I finally got my first chance to try out my new $16 WiFi card. I was a t a locla library that has WiFi and happened to have my clie along and some free time. I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I was. I mean, I am very happy that I didn't pay the $150 price.

I tried using Clie Mail, and it worked. Hoorrrray! I then tried NetFront. MY goodness was it slow....The only webpage that it did not timeout on when loading was yahoo.com I tried cliesource, and clieplanet, I tried going to a friend's website, cnn, google, aol, hotmail, sony....every single site it went for about 10 minutes trying to load, and after getting a few images on the screen it would come up with a window saying that it had timed out. I then moved onto my AOL Beta progam...that didn't work at all...it caused my clie to completly freeze requireing a reset....

Boy, what a bad taste that wiFi experiance left in my mouth

In your clie under network wireless advanced preferences, do you have PowerSaveMode unchecked? If it's checked, your conncetion speed will be slow as molasses!

Turn of CSS too. Most pages will not be affected and will help speed things up...

I imagine the library is using a proxy server for thier web. You need to find the proxy server address and port number, and enter them in the Netfront Settings before you will be able to browse the web. E-mail and chat software will work without the proxy address... but you won't be able to surf. This was how it was set up at my high school, and I imagine a public library would be the same. This is how they control what websites you go to.

It is NOT the cards fault at all...just the configuration... Netfront is VEERRRYYY slow... Try Pocketlink 2.55, hirez+ and pretty fast...
