Ok, I just couldn't pass it up, I was walking through CampUSA and saw a Tungsten C in the "Manger's Special" case. It still had the screen protector and was basicly brand new (box looked beat and the cd was missing). It was listed at $98, when I got it to the register it rang up $20 less, so I got it for under $80. I get it home plug it in and let it sit for 3 hours before playing with it. I push the power button and nothing. I called Palm support and was told because it was an open box it was out of waranty. What to do, according to the reciept I can return it to CompUSA, but should I keep and and see if maybe just the charger is dead or maybe the battery needs to be replaced? What to do.....

Chris Short is great at fixing things. He's on ebay but I don't remember his screen name there. You can probably find a link at Brighthand.

Here's an update, after letting it sit for 3 hours I noticed that neither the T/C or the plug felt warm so I rummaged around and found another pulg with similar specs and tried it (what did I have to lose?) and hey then I noticed there is a green charging light on top of the T/C. So I'll give it another 3 hour before playing with it again.

Could have been a bad cable. If no joy after the three hours, try a soft reset while plugged in (also known as an in-cradle reset) then leave for three hours.
You can download the basic Palm Desktop and hotsync from Palm.com, otherwise I'd suggest you check ebay.

Right on, it charged and is functional.
I've used palms for the last 5 years so I have no shortage of Palm Desktop software.
Thanks for your help!

Yeah, since it's been out that long, the batt was probably beyond dead, and the charger may have died too. Heck, I spent $128 for a huge lot of PDAs that were "dead" and most powered on after a night of charging, albeit some cracked screens and such. :)
