Okay, I've had my T615 for 5 months now which I bought with extended warranty. But I really really really want the H1910. Is it possible to just ask for an exchange for the H1910 since I bought their extended exchange warranty?

Isn't that unethical if they don't cost the same?

You could try, I would if I was in your situation.

Yes I'm willing to pay the 50 dollar difference. I just don't want to get laughed at because it seems kind of strange to exchange a 5 month old product for a brand new one...but I don't want to break my unit on purpose just to exchange, so can I simply ask for an exchange?

Have you tried exchanging an old product?

Yes, 2 PDA's. But that was at Futureshop.

So how old were they, what did you say, did you have warranty?

One was 32 days old and the other was 60 something days old. I just told them I want to upgrade to another model. It allowed me to experience the Palm os and finally the PPC os.

Did you have any kind of warranty on them?

Yes I had the warranty. I'm not sure which one though.

I don't think the extended warranty has anything to do with wanting to exchange you Clie for a Pocket PC. The warranty is in case the Clie is defective and in need of repairs or in some cases, exchange for asimilar unit by the same manufacturer. What I would be more concerned with was the exchange policy at the vendor that you bought your Clie from. Some merchants (Wal Mart for example) allow you a generous period of time to exchange your undamaged merchandise as long as you have proof of purchase. Other vendors have very limited exchange policies regarding computer equipment or software even if you have proof of purchase.
I would also check out the warranty exchange policy completely in case your device becomes "damaged" and needs to be exchanged. If the merchant feels that the damage is not a defect in the manufacturing, they can, and usually will, decline to repalce it.
An easier solution would be to try to sell your Clie and save the rest for the IPAQ (As a former PPC user, I dont know why you would want to) and purchase the IPAQ. This way, you know you are also getting a NEW Ipaq and not a refurb that was set aside for exchanges.
Good Luck,
David
