I installed Agendus Premier yesterday and set everything up....

Today I was try to get Agendus Mail to open some attachments and I got into a reset loop. I got out of the loop and then tried to open DTG.... it crashed again and when teh silver Palm Powered logo came up it just hung.

I've since tried a Warm reset.... it still just hung on the silver screen....

I've also attempted a Hard reset several times.... I get to the screen where it asks me to hit UP to say YES.... I do so and it continues on to the silver screen and then just hangs.....

I can't seem to get my TX back!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!!

After you do a hard reset (and lost all the palm data) you must rename the backup folder of your profile:

Program files\Palm\youruser

If you don't rename it, all the data will be restore on the next sync (and the problem with Agendus)

Try a warm reset, delete anything that might be problematic (hacks, extensions, AGP, etc) and reset. If you are not back into operating mode, warm reset, delete everything and try hard reset from there.

With the hard reset you delete all the data. Silverscreen should be erased.

he is refering to the gray palm logo screen, not the silverscreen app
yes a hard reset will erase all data but software can prevent this from ever occuring (in this case)

I walked away from Agendus (Both Palm and Outlook version), as the amount of money they wanted for each upgrade was not worth the new features. Plus, my T/X would run slower and it would make other programs problematic.

Also, Agendus for Outlook was so buggy that they would have an update for the update to fix problems.

Can you try a zero out reset? Try searching the Palm site as I don't remember the steps.

You could let it sit for a couple of days to see if when the battery life runs down the cache gets erased.

'zero out' = secure erase reset in LD land. Do the hard reset and hit left on the 5-way at the prompt...good luck and remember, your entire HD will be wiped clean

Hi,

To the original poster, have you considered going over to Iambic's forums to see if there is some advice that may solve your issues.

This is a great source of here but considering the forum at Iambic is specifically geared for help, I would check there first.

Just so you know... the problem is not really with Agendus or DTG: it's a memory handling bug in the OS... I've bricked 2 TXes due to this problem so far. The only solution I've found for it is to get Palm to replace the TX.

The problem is that core parts of the flashing code appear to get corrupted in certain circumstances, which means Hard reset and Zero-Out don't actually do anything... the code that does this crashes instead. I'm hoping that I don't get anymore of these problems, as it's getting close to the end of my warranty period.

Even though Agendus bashing is fun and the in thing to do, I have to agree with _Em on this. I'm pretty sure I had this on my T5, too. If it's not under warranty (and therefore getting it replaced is out of the question), I was able once (really, just once) to get my T5 to hard reset after letting the battery completely drain, hooking it up to the power cord and charging for 5-10 minutes, and while still connected, perform the hard reset steps. It does take a while for the battery to drain, though.

This sounds like a software interaction with Tx OS issue. I've had the same thing happen with OTHER software. Zero Out Reset finally got my Tx back. Since then (without the offending software), everything is back to "normal". No, the Tx is NOT as stable as it should be. Trouble is everyone is blaming everyone else. No one will take responsibility.

I am not defending Agendus or iambic. I do have the latest Agendus Pro 11.03 running on my Tx. I have not run the Premeire installer, but the Agendus Pro and Agendus Mail SSL 5.21 installers worked fine for me.

i ended up getting a new TX..... oh well.... anyone interested in buying a broken TX for parts? (by the way.... while trying to fix it the red battery wire got disconnected from the MB.... it should just be able to be souldered back, but i'm not planning to bother...)
