What is the best palm-powered PDA? I am really confused now and looking for my first PDA. I fall in love with Sony Clie but after searching for days (online store and local store), it seems like I could not find any seller. Maybe anyone here know where to buy it?
Thanks in advance.

Welcome!
Unfortunately, the Clie has been dead for years. Your only choice is Palm. I have a TX and can recommend it.

The bests Palm PDA is the one that best suites your needs. ;)
But seriously, I would also recommend the TX. It has been a nice stable platform and does everything I need. The large screen what can flip from portrait to landscape is great. I use Wi-Fi to surf the Net.

The TX and the Treo 700p are my favorites.

Welcome to 1src!
If you want a Clie, go to eBay.
There is no answer to "what is the best palm os PDA". They are all special in their own way. What do you need your PDA to be able to do? Once we know that, I am sure we can help you pick one out ;)

Thank you all for your inputs.
Basically what I want is all the features that I can get from Sony Clie NX80V:
- Enhanced flip and rotate design (really cool)
- Digital Camera
- Mp3 Player
- Wireless LAN
- Voice Recorder
- Movie Recorder
- Palm Chinese-English Oxford Dictionary (my friend has it and he said he can transfer to me if I buy the same Sony Clie as his, if I buy the software, it will cost me US$105 - I am not sure if I buy Palm TX, I can transfer the software from his Sony Clie).

Well, why not get a NX80 with the WL110 wireless card? I am sure you can find it on eBay. I owned a NX80, it was a great PDA. :)

It's rather hard to buy from eBay.com.cn if you are buying "used" items, especially here in China. Most of used items here are not in good conditions. I want to buy from eBay.com but most of the sellers only ship within North America (or US only). This will be my first PDA so I am really confused which one I should buy. I like Sony Clie because it looks really cool..:D

LoL..Sony is really innovative. :D
The best for me is still the Clie TH55/E. If you'd want a TH, we have a member (DanT) who maintains a spare parts center of his own. He also sells and repairs TH55 units. Check him out at the TH Forums. The thread is already a sticky, so it's easy to find it.
Right now, my current PDA is a Treo 650 and LifeDrive. Basically, both are used for phone use, pictures storage, and for testing new software.
Good luck, and welcome to 1src.!

TH55 doesn't do WPA. It also doesn't have a full implementation of Memory Stick Pro, so you can only use the 64 meg Memory Sticks with Magic Gate to play AAC files from. Sucks ***. Sony never published any API for using the DSP on it, so media programs lag, except for the bundled ones. Also, it has too many buttons on the side. I was constantly accidently hitting buttons. It also can't do landscape mode natively. It was the best, until the TX.
Putting the roller on the top is genius, though. And the camera is great, probably the best I've seen in a PDA.

Thanks for the endorsement there Joel.
adiaQ, if you ask me, I'm bias of course. If you want a TH55, just pick one from my stock, below. I have from pretty much brand new, excellent, to good condition with one-year warranty, repair and spareparts supports for many years to come. ;)

It sounds like you want an NX80. In my opinion, this is an awesome choice. It is still the most versatile PDA out there, mine does everything I want it to. Try emailing sellers on Ebay, and ask if they would ship you one in China. If you do the homework as far as shipping costs and give them that info, most would likely ship to you. I still think the NX80 is top-of-the-line. Good luck!
I just put one of my TH55/U in eBay: Item number: 120030089592 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:US:11&item=120030089592).

TH55 is the best PDA ever, bar none, close the book, end of story! :p
Palm Treo 700p is the best smartphone to date. As an owner of both I am highly qualified to be snobbishly biased! My mind is made up so don't bother trying to argue with me! :D :p

So we all agree once and for all: The 1src members elect the Sony TH55 as the best PDA ever.

If you want a keyboard and dual expansion slots, then perhaps the TH55 isn't the best for your needs. In that case...

My favourite is the TH55/E (funnily enough). If my TH55 were to die and DanT couldn't fix it or send me another one, I'd probably go for the TX, but I'm hoping that never happens.

I got you covered, like my daily-use TH55/E1 and my back-up red TH55/E1. I have enough spareparts for years to come. You're just a PM away. ;)

And you obviously don't play a lot of intensive games! ;-)
Although I will agree that the battery life on the T3 is terrible and I wish it had WiFi, the T3 has the processing power and the dynamic RAM needed for just about anything.

with all the respect, the th55 have a BIG minus. no keyboard.
it also need to "borrow" files from another device to record video.
obviously the vz90 is far better device.
and did someone here said the tx is stable ??? maybe while it turn off... :p
the most complete package come with the ux50 and therefor - it is the best handheld ever made.

I decided to buy TH55/E1 from DanT and currently waiting for him to ship it to here. :D
By the way, golalmo, what do you mean by it needs to "borrow" files in order to record video?
T3_slider

The TH55 only has the software to take pictures and not record video. However, if you 'borrow' the file movierecorder.prc from a UX50 it will record video. You just have to find the file and you're set. See here: http://maisonbisson.com/blog/post/10037/
I won't post a link to the file (it allows it to be found easier by Sony plus I'm not supposed to), but in the blog above there is a link to another article on the same blog (It says [UPDATE]: I found more info and a better source for the movie recorder here.). In that article there is a link.
Anyway, I don't personally own a TH55, so this has no use to me, but to others who may not know, enjoy (It's already posted on this forum several times, but maybe not where to find the file).

Umm, the VZ doesn't have a keyboard... and doesn't even have a camera... ;)
(but it does have OLED and battery life)

Thanks for the payment. It's on its way to China. See your PM for detail. Please let me know if you have any problem. Enjoy your new and still the best Palm Powered PDA. Keep your receipt as you have one-year warranty from me.

Thank you T3_Slider for the explanation, I guess I need to install it later on. And thank you DanT for your patience during our deal which took more than a week and exchanges of more than 35 messages. I am definitely satisfied with your service. :D
I am really excited now and maybe tonight I could not sleep waiting for my first PDA...hehe..:D

woohoo..I just received my TH55 today. Thank you DanT for your great service. He phoned me (to China!! :D) to check whether I have received it or not. And everything is in good condition just as he had promised me (I ordered TH55/E1 "mint" condition). :p
Anyway, I will be playing in this forums (this site really offers the best Sony Clie related informations) for quite some time because I still need to learn a lot (I am still a bit confused with how to use TH55). Thank you. :)
You welcome. Glad to hear it arrived. Enjoy your new toy. :)
