People may just post their email in this thread.
I bet most people have close to 100 Gmail invites to give out ^^

Since I use a Mac and have no real access to a PC, the Skype option works for me.

In a PM message to me, cgarrett1974, raised a good point that I wanted to thow out. If you don't want to call and leave a message, you can also just mail me a pre-recorded message at 1srcpodcast@gmail.com . Keep in mind that I'm using Apple's Garage Band which is part of the iLife '06 suite and that I'd prefer .mp3 and/or AAC files over .wav files. If you do that, I can download the clip and import it into Garage Band. Please keep in mind that GMail has a 10MB max file attachment size.

I'm glad to hear that you guys are enjoying the show. When I took over from Jeff way back on show 47, I had no idea how I was going to live up to the expectations. So, once again, thank you all for hanging around and helping to make the show a success!

OK one vote here for SKYPE - Gmail stinks for voice...Not to mention soon we'll all have those portable WIFI Skype phones that I saw way back at CES last year. Also we can have Skycasts for 1SRC too....

Alan:

thanks for a very interesting show. I am especially interested in the ROM update but like you I am fearful of what will happen. The only real benefits I see in the ROM update are NetFront and drive mode. I am very happy with Blazer and now Opera Mini lets me into my business lotus notes email.

What are the benefits of drive mode? does it mount just the sd card or also the internal ram? I have card reader for my sd cards so maybe drive mode isn't necessary?

Thanks again...

I like using Drive Mode on my T5 and LifeDrive because they give me access to the internal storage (T5), hard drive (LifeDrive) and the inserted SD/MMC card without having to do anything other than connect the HotSync cable and turn Drive Mode on. If you use Card Export from Softick, then there is no benefit. And unless you are using a LifeDrive, having an stand alone card reader takes care of the need for Drive Mode on other devies.

I did the rom update with no ill effects. I already had Maxx and Netfront so it is nice to have it in ROM now. The drive mode files are a nice addition also, since I don't even use my card reader anymore! I can also plug my TX into any PC with plug&Play USB too. I was hoping though that drive mode would allow me to explore the internal nvfs of the TX, but no such luck.

Alan,
in the podcast you referred to OTA installation.

I just happened to look at the specs of the newest Think Outside Stowaway Sierra Bluetooth keyboard.
See what it says:
The Stowaway Sierra Bluetooth keyboard is the perfect productivity companion to your smartphone, PDA, tablet, media center PC or notebook computer. With 19mm spacing, the Stowaway Sierra keyboard feels like a standard computer keyboard. Its unique folded design makes it highly portable, yet opens to a full size keyboard when needed.

Over-the-air driver installation-no PC needed!

All of the drivers for Think Outside have been OTA for WM devices. It just downloaded and the cab file loaded. And prc files should be no different, though I never got internet on my Palms long enough to find out.

holvoetn,

That's really cool! I didn't know that you can download the drivers OTA from the keyboard. I may have to get one now.

FYI that IR update KILLED my 700P Verizon - hard to do a hard reset.
