I've made some HiRes icons for my DateBk5. Some I made frome scratch, in some I have used parts of downloaded icons.

You can find them at http://www.multi.fi/~phedman/hedlasse/icons/

Nice Gradients!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll be glad when Pimlico releases the version to use these types of Icons (I do know there is a beta out there which allows the use of HiRes Icons)

There's almost no reason not to use DateBk5 beta versions. Most are more stable than other apps' released versions. Just go ahead and start using it.

I'm not saying it isn't stable....... just changing almost daily it seems..... there was the preview b... then the preview c... now the preview d ...... I keep datebk5 up in flash.... so I don't feel like moving it back to ram... then overwriting it... then moving it back to flash on an almost daily basis. ...... I'll kinda wait for the next major release... or wait ... at least a couple weeks between the betas.... :)

The last beta was dated March 24, so there hasn't been a new one in almost a whole month. ;)

It may seem like a lot of work, but you're really missing out by not using the newest betas. He's done a lot of work to make everything visually more appealling. Hi-Res icons, Hi-res note, alarm, and link icons...

As long as he continues to update, I'll continue to use Jackflash to move Datebk5 from flash to ram, overwrite in ram, and move back to flash.

It's worth it!

Valodya: pD was released yesterday.

Tixx: pC had a few issues. pD is pretty much good to go.

I usually keep DB5 in FlashROM, too. With all the recent updates, I've just been keeping it in RAM. Same with IconMgr.

I sync the new version like any other app, go into JackFlash, delete the one in ROM, move the one in RAM to ROM, and that's it. Much easier than the way I was doing it (which is the way you're doing it now . . .)

That's exactly how I do it, too - until he started releasing a new version every other day! :)

I have been doing it the slow and laborious way, and I don't regret it one bit. As far as betas go, I would sign up for the beta list on yahoo (group: Pimlicodatebk). If you are worried about them, just wait a couple of days before installing. If there are any major issues, they will be noted and hopefully fixed. That way you can tell whether a certain beta is okay to install or not.

On that note, I should point out that with the Datebk5 betas, I have never had any serious issues that would require a reset. With pC, I did have a display issue in the split screen related to the icons used with todos, and that has been resolved in pD. I highly recommend that version. Better hi-res views (particularly year-view for 320x320 screens) and improved icons, hi-res and higher icon limit (2000+ vs. 255).

Yes!!!!!!!!! IconMgr is GREAT for Creating Icons... of various 'types'. HiRes... Low Res.... great program... well worth the couple of bucks for registration!
