This camera was a "flagship" that uses MS pro(the large ones)for its memory. For the Sony Clie user it also will act as an extra drive on your PC a very convient card reader for the xp pc version computer(added driver necessary for windows 98) It has movie function and sound microphone in addition to photographs. prices when it was new runs from $850 to $970 but hey 5.0 mega pixels as compared to a 0.5 megapixel clie(tj-37) is no comparison, I love the difference and can now use my MS memory gate without buying a new card reader.

It's great that you're still getting some good use out of your old camera. :)
Isn't it amazing that you can now buy a really good DSLR with a lens for the same price this camera sold for just three short years ago?

Actually it was thrown out, a perfectly good camera, just needed to add the small usb cord off my Tj-37 clie and the memory stick. Why would someone need a digital single reflex camera unless they have a bunch of lenses to fit? But hey the professional photographers are going digital...

I could give you a lot of reasons. :) In my case you hit the nail right on the head. I already had 12 Canon EOS lenses when I decided to buy my 20D.
