Does anyone know what is this device?

I saw someone using this handheld device that has a silver casing and you hold it horizontally lengthwise (as opposed to the vertical position of most PDAs). The inner top portion flips open like a laptop with the screen on the top portion and a mini keyboard inside. It's not the entire top half of the device that opens up. Just the middle portion so that the left and right ends stick up like handle bars which you can hold onto.

The person was tying on it like he was checking email or IM or something, so it probably has built wi-fi or something.

Can anyone identify it?

T-Mobile Sidekick (http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/phones/default.aspx?compatable=false&manufacturer=dfc0fe3e-bf69-4c82-aa1a-24a0cc37d6b0). Keypad is made out of something resembling a rubber doormat. Additional apps I believe are restricted to those from T-Zones.

sounds like a UX40, 50 or sony's new UXPC

or it could be a sidekick...

It's not a UX40/50 as there are no "handle bars" on it. Probably a Sidekick, or maybe a Mylo (are those even out yet?).

Yes, it looks very much like the Sidekick, except I didn't see a display on top of the cover when it's closed.

Yes, it was the Sidekick II model. I guess the display lid swivels.
