guys, ...

If you check the clie online in singapore, http://vaio-online.sony.com/sg/clie/app/index.jsp you will find out that sony will not sell it anymore, because it is "Sold Out".

About 10 days ago, sony put a mark that the TG50 is in "Limited Stock" Usually after this remark, they need a month before the "Sold Out" comes up.

Sony has dropped the NX70 for only SGD902, while it bundles the NX70 with MS for USD599 in US.

Do you guys think that sony will launch new T series in the coming week? Also the improved NX series?

Uhhhhhhhhh ....
I can't wait .....

I don't think so. Cos the nz90 has also bare the same "Sold Out" tag after it had been released for 2 weeks. And few days later, the nz90 was up again for sale until now.

i think their first batches have been cleared. I doubt they'll drop the TG50 so quickly. A couple of new Clies could be coming soon, but not replacements for the TG50, I think.

I hope not.
It hasn't even got to the UK yet!

My favourite line from the website is on the NX70 section "Now, Reasonable Price" LOL

for reference, how long was the T415 on the market? like 2 months before being discontinued?

Yes, but from the beginning, the t415 wasn't Sony's brightest hour.

I doubt the price will dropped also.

I believe new NX will be out very soon and older NX should drop price again. However, I guess new bactch TG50 will be shipping in again. The price would not dropped now also because no newer T series is launching.

while I love my TG50, I have to admit, it isn't sony's brightest unit either. It is definately not without it's shortcomings. I predict an (N710->n760) type transition to occur with the Tg50. Some minor build quality issues, better screen, updated os, better keyboard, more ram. should come out soon. This way it can better compete with the Tungsten C.

the thing with more RAM is that more RAM = less memory stick PRO sales. Suits them right, those bastards! Also the new CF driver makes me want to get an NX sooo bad...

I think Sony marketing could decide to stop production and update this quickly if they wanted to. How hard would it be to update to 5.2.1 and make other minor improvements? But do they want to, I have no idea.
Depends on their assessment of the competition and their target market (that would be us), etc.. Would it be worth the cost to change the line, ads, and packaging, or would the same money give a larger return on another project?

yOyOYoo, you and a few other people might have a few problems with the TG50 but the vast majority of people who have it like it. You can say this of any model. With the T415, the situation was the opposite. A few people liked it but the vast majority of people were unsatisfied. Fortunately, the problems with the T415 were so obvious people knew to not buy it in the first place.

And even the T415 was on the market 4 or 5 months.

ed, I dont want to come off as sounding like I hate the TG50. I'm just disappointed with the build quality and some minor issues. Take this for example: I loved my TG50 so much I just bought my Sister one for her birthday last week.

Guess what the first thing I did was? Yep, superglue the outside perimeter down and put a piece of scotch tape over the white plastic part of the hinge on the back. that's 2 for 2 for me. You can't really blame me for being a little bit upset at sony. And I am not the type to go back to the store 3 times just to get a "perfect" one. I'll just do a quick fix.

But my point is, anyone who buys 2 brand new TG50s, should not have to hold sony's newest pda together with superglue and tape. Sony definately needs some minor touchups.
