Hello,

I am a 650 user, and I consider myself to be pretty knowledgable with my device. I put a lot of time into finding the best 3rd party software to meet my needs. One area I feel I've done really poorly is a replacement for the calendar, contact, task, and memo software. I'll admit to a relatively unhealthy addiction to Microsoft Outlook, and about two and a half years ago, I purchased Beyond Contacts by Dataviz. Beyond Contacts synchronizes extremely well with the calendar on Outlook, and it synchronizes a ton of fields for the contacts. Meanwhile, it has been forever since Dataviz has made any alterations to this software, and it takes up a ton of space since it requires its own databases. I am wondering if there is something good out there that I should look into. Something far more visually appealing than BC would be great. And I also wouldn't mind something that integrates better with SnapperMail, which I use for me email needs.

Any and all ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, in advance, for all the advice.

Eric

I don't know about snapper mail, but I use datebk6... it's beta, but stable. There's a 45 day eval and it handles calendar, and integrates with memos, todo and contacts. One thing is that it's being actively developed.

Caveat - I'm having trouble syncing my calendar and I am new to the 650 so, I don't know what the problem is or if it has anything to do with datebk.

thanks. I believe I tried Dtbk a few years ago. Now that I think about this issue some more, I remember that the reason I replaced the palm software was because on old Clies, the calendar wouldn't sync the location of appointments. This was a huge issue for me, so I bought software that would sync this information. But I know that the software that comes on the Treo now does sync this. Are there people who use the factory software? Is that software any good? Let me know what people think. Thanks.

You could try Agendus by iambic for calender and contact management. It also has an email add-on. Try the demo version first to see if it fills your needs

Agendus Pro and Agendus Mail SSL version are awesome. Just make sure if you decide to try it that you DO NOT let the installer configure your buttons. Say "NO" to that and configure only button #2 to Agendus. Then Agendus for Windows Outlook Edition adds all the "eye candy" you could ever want to Outlook. I would recommend PocketMirror XT by Chapura as your Outlook hotsync conduit. Chapura actually licenses Palm's Outlook conduits but it's a stripped down version, so to speak, of PocketMirror that runs if you use the Palm Desktop Outlook conduits. ;)

There are two camps: the Datebk camp and the Agendus camp.

Personally, I never cared for the Datebk product. I have been using Agendus for many years now because it is a combination of functionality and aesthetics.

I was really happy with Datebk, but i tried Agendus, and it fit all of my needs (like the "all in one" feature, relationship...).

Cheers.
