WMV files

Well I've looked through this forum and couldn't find anything on this topic so here goes:

Any help with being able to .wmv files onto the Clie? Image Converter doesn't seem to work, and I can't find any converter programs on the internet. ARGH...any help please?

I guess winmpg video convert could be able to help you convert wmv to avi.

I am using Tmpgenc and its fine it ll convert nearly everythink.

YAY! Winmpg looked promising but the video I wanted to convert was longer than 5 min. and I didn't want to fork over $30 until I know that I will be using video features on a regular occasion....

TMPGENC Worked well and I know have my very own copy of Star from the BMW Films on my TG50....Go me!

I looked at TMPGENC but was unable to work out how to convert an avi or wmv to a pdb for my Clie........How did you do it?

Hmm, that's strange. I in fact was using tmpegnc all the while but some of the format was not able to convert.

Do I have to download a WMV plug in so as to convert? because I was not able to do that that's why I change to winmpg.

Here's a trick I learned to convert WMV to mpg using TMPGENC. Go to menu OPTIONS > ENVIRONMENTAL SETTINGS and click the "VFAPI plug-in" tab. Check the "Directshow Multimedia File Reader" box (better still, just check all the boxes in there). The WMV to mpg conversion should work after that. Good luck.
