Are my application buttons broken??

For some reason, I can't consistently get my display pannel application buttons to work (these are the ones for the date book, address book, to do list, and memo pad on the display half of the unit. They're on the bottom near the expansion slot when the clie is in Tablet mode.)

When I press them, they do not always respond. They do not turn on the unit when they're pressed when the unit is off. Sometimes I have to press it like 20 times for it actually respond, and then for some reason it sometimes pops up the "find" window. I never really use these buttons, and they've worked in the past. But for some reason they're not working right now, after a soft and hard reset even.

Should I return this and pick up a new one? Am I just stupid and am forgetting something?

I guess I'll end up calling Sony tomorrow but I was just wondering what you guys thought for now.

First do a soft reset. If that doesn't work, backup your clie, then do a hard reset. If the buttons still don't cooperate, then exchange the unit.

Those buttons only work when your Clie is on the turned style, i.e. turned the top clockwise and rest it against the keyboard. See page 46 of the ReadThisFirst Manual.

(I am still jealous you have the CF driver.... BTW contacted eruware, asked them to update the site... a bit cleaner and more timely now)
