Where are the video files stored? and how do I get them on my computer to use with other programs? I wish sony would provide more documentation on these tasks. Can someone please help me?

The video files that the NX uses are in a *.mqv format. You will need the latest version of Quicktime media player to play these. Associate the player with these type of files, and you will be able to read them on a PC.

To get to your movies that you took with your NX, You'll need to open up the folder on the memory stick called "MQ_ROOT" to find the movie files. Look around till you find the files with the MQV extension. Put them on your PC somewhere (drag and drop to a folder of your choosing), then use the Quicktime player to play them.

One more thing, you should rename these file extensions from *.MQV to *.MOV to ensure they will work with Quicktime.

I haven't checked out this site much, but doesn't someone have an FAQ or something they'd like to post to explain these questions that pop up all the time? Just wondering.

/MQ_ROOT/100MQV01 on the Memory Stick. You can get them to the computer using MS Import or a MemoryStick Reader.

Oh yea, forgot that. I have a CF/MS/SD/whatever else you can think of USB card reader that lets me directly take the files.

Yea, what the poster above me said. Use those programs to transfer the files if you do not have another method of directly doing it otherwise.

File locations of the default Sony apps can be found in the applications manual that should be stored on your hard drive or on the CD. Look in the Start Menu for Clie Info. It gives the folder locations on the memory stick.

There are a few that you may need to know in the future.
