MiniDV to Clie Movie Player

How do I convert the files that I record from my MiniDV to a format that I can play on Movie Player.

When I download them they are mpeg format but for some reason Image Converter can't convert them.

Have you tried just putting the files as is on a memory stick.

What brand of mini DV are you using.

My sony F717 still records movies in mpg mode and they work on clie right out of the camera.

If yours is not sony, maybe try re-naming and re-locating the. Also check on the vidoe forum, may find goon info there.

Need some more information...what is the source, and how are you "downloading" them? Are they MPEG-1/2/4?

If you're talking MiniDV, you must be talking camcorder. Are you sure they are MPEG's that you are dealing with?

Are you talking about either of these two scenarios(?):

1) You are using a miniDV camcorder, transferring to your PC via firewire.

2) You are using a miniDV camcorder that records movie clips in MPG format onto a removable flash memory card.

I am using a Sony MiniDV camcorder and downloading the files via USB.  They show to be in mpeg format but when I try to transfer them thru Image Converter it says something like this file not supported.
