I'm pretty sure I've read that you can't use anything higher than a 2 gb memory stick on a Clie, but I just wanted to ask--does anyone know if it is possible to use a 4 gb memory stick pro duo on an NX80?

You will need a FAT32 driver for your NX80. None was officially released by Sony, but I've loaded a hacked version for an NX73 onto my NX70. The downside is the built-in music and movie players won't work with FAT32 volumes, but TCPMP works fine.
I'm using a FAT32 formatted 4GB CF-II card via Pelaca's CF driver on my NX-70 (as well as 1GB MS DUO Pro)

mmulhern, can you use FMP and Pocket Tunes with FAT32? I heard that it slows something down also. What does FAT32 slow down?

Hi, as posted PocketTunes runs OK with FAT32 volumes. Not familiar with the programme "FMP". As to slow downs, I haven't been aware of any noticeable slow downs on my NX70, except for programs that scan available volumes for files. On my NX70, Plucker takes longer, but then I just put it down to it now scanning 5GB of volumes, rather than the 1.25GB previously.
If there is a slow down, It has not impacted on me, and I'd rather the extra storage anyway. I store most of my video for TCPMP on the 4GB CF, and it plays back fine. (Actually the 4GB CF-II is really a 4GB SD card in a CF-II adaptor)

Thank all for the replies. I'm still debating if it's worth it to get a 4 gb card, vs another 2 gb pro duo stick. It seems that the pro duo stick size can easily fit into my NX's case, and would certainly be cheaper. Not as cool, though, as a 4 gb stick...

FMP is Full Movie Player for clies. It allows me to pause, go backwards forwards and it even allows me to exit the program and return where my movie left off instead of fast forwarding to find my spot. Does TCPMP allow that? I haven't, but haven't done much with it, because I have Pocket Tunes and FMP.

TCPMP does allow you to pause by clicking on "Play" again, you can even forward/back the video by dragging the time bar on the screen, though it jumps by about 5 second or something between the drag, and yes, it does stay at where you left off even if you exit the program, as long as you don't clear the playlist.
I never tried FMP because TCPMP works too good to give it up, and it will auto skip the frames if your CPU's too slow, when it does skip, most the time you won't even notice until you check the media info where it will tell you how many frames skipped, unless your video quality is way too high and it has no choice to skip alot of frames at one time, only then you'll see the lag.
:) I highly recommand trying TCPMP out!

Thanks Semi. Now all I have to do is figure out how to format and play the 4GB MS. It's a fake MS so that could be my problem, because I had no problem with my CF card. But I can't figure out how to do it with the dos prompt, via computer. My CF automatically allowed format when you right clicked on the drive in WindowsXP. This one doesn't.

Actually it could be the card reader. My previous (only 2 and bit years old) card reader would only support <=1GB CF and <=512MB MS. Interestingly >1GB CF didn't mount at all, but my 2GB MS Pro Duo would seem to mount, but I couldn't do anything with it.
Both cards worked fine on a friends built-in reader in his new PC.
So I took my PowerBook down to the local PC dealer and asked to try a card reader, and it worked fine for the 4GB CF, and 2GB MS Pro Duo, bought it, no problems.
