Nope, unless Sony or someone make a patch for elder CLIEs incl. the SJ22, if ever, or possible... ^_^'

Oopps... I forgot someone mentioned about FAT32 and FAT16 formats of the new MS Pro... That may make some officially no-support devices to read them... Try the search function...

somewhere they said MS pro only works with Palm OS 5. In addition, I heard the MS-Pro would have another connector, with more pins, which would make it impossible for such OLD devices (i have a brand-new SJ-33, if it won't support MS pro, i'll k*** those sony people elswhere....

right, I REALLY hope it works for the SJ33 cause I want to store more songs, Videos, etc there, and that would mean the new ones wouldnt work (econimaclly). BIG LOSS FOR SONY. SD cards are goin' up to a gig, while Sony is still in 128MB

any OS 4.x device will NOT support MS Pro...it's not the connector, it's the processor. OS 5 devices use and ARM chip, OS 4.1 use the Dragonball.
We've discussed this numerous times; the FAT16/32 issue has been attempted and failed. For the life of me, I can't find the threads (I think they were in the NR forum, which amazingly, has only 2 pages of posts....), but take my word for it.

Sony officialy state that Pro does not work on SJ33.
That is bad for me, but 128x2 card is really good value now.

of course, 128xX sticks work on any device. it's because they're just two "normal" 128-sticks in one.

I was the one who tried the FAT format on the older Clie, and it did not work. Worked great on the NX & NZ, but it was a no go on my NR or the shop's SJ33.
I have some other ideas, but don't have access to another MS pro at the moment. A friend of mine at Sony is trying to get one to loan me so I can mess with it some more.

is it just the FAT issue? then couldn't it be possible to format the MS Pro in a format that an OS4 device can read or something?
however, good luck, GeekGod :)

Couldn't someone develop drivers that would allow memory stick pro. to be used with Palm OS4 CLIES? Kind of like the CF driver for the NX/NZ CLIES?

Could someone explain this a little more? Whats the processor have to do with MS Pro?

Hey GeekGod, do you know if there is some kind of Palm Users Group here on Oahu?

I'm going to get this SO wrong, so someone back me up or correct me, but here's the gist (I think). Processors are made with certain instruction sets to read info from storage devices; the MSPro's were designed to fit with the instruction set of the ARMs (so why did OS 5 devices need a driver update? I dunno), and the DragonBall's (haha...dragon balls) don't have the right instruction set and can't be updated to the correct one.

Hey GeekGod...let us all know if you make any progress on your attempts! Would LOVE to use an MSPro in my NR!

Yeah, I can see wanting 256+MB in an NR or T665 or SJ33, but why, oh why would you need 256MB on an SJ22? The RAM is fine and if you need that many movies, well, that's odd. Just...fill me in?

I think some people out there put huge databases, documents, and slide shows on the handhelds. That is what they need 256MB for.

Palm Cow:
Yeah, that's a good point...in an SJ-22, not so much. But anything with an MP3 player it would be wonderful.
