Does anyone know if OS 4.1.2, with the Graffiti 2 update, going to be compatible with Clies? How about with Virtual Graffiti?

Highly doubtful, Sony doesn't make it a habit to offer OS upgrades to any of their units. I can remember only 2 occasions where they offered an upgrade, the S300 upgrade from 3.51 to 3.52 and the N710 upgrade from 3.52 to 4.0. Support for out of life models isn't really Sony's forte. You're more likely to see them come out with a new model with the new grafitti II, most likely at the high end. Sony has a tendency to reward people who buy their high end Clies.

My feeling is that SONY rewards people who buy new Clie's every 6 months.

Hehehe. I reward their cheezy asses right back by having my Clies replaced every 6 months through store warranties.

Hey! It's not my damn fault! Every one of these upgrades been legit! Infact, I'm counting on every damn Clie failing on me in one way or another! :D

I made the mistake of buying my two Clie's from Goodguys. I have extended warranties, but they stopped carrying PDAs all together, so no upgrades for me.

When the screens finally fall off I'll put the credit towards a new sound system.

At least the money's not wasted.

I'm getting to a point with my PDA investments that when I get an expensive PDA like the NX, I end up buying 2 seperate store warranties on it, just to make sure that I get that puppy upgraded!

I get the Besy Buy plan for really cheap since I work there part time, and and also go get he CompUSA one as well. This way, I'm definitely getting that sucker upgraded! :D

That sounds good, I'll buy my next PDA from one of those places. Goodguys was right down the street from me.

My wifes NR is in great condition, but the MS has popped out a few times. My screen is a little loose, but nothing that warrants a replacement yet. But since my extended warranties are 4 years, it was good insurance for 60 bucks each.

Hey Shogmaster since you work at Best Buy, I was wondering if you could answer a couple questions for me: :)

What are the restrictions on a PRP (Product Replacement Plan) and a PSP (Product Service Plan)? I know that with a PRP they'll replace the PDA with a credit voucher equal to the price you paid. With a PSP they'll repair the damaged PDA or replace it with a refurbished unit.

Obviously, the PRP is better.

I've been told that you can only buy a PRP if they unit is less than 149.99. All other units over that price can only be covered by a PSP.

Is this true? And does this vary according to geographic location?

Keep in mind that the Manager of the store makes the final decision, and the practice varies from manager to manager, and store to store to some degree.

In my district, for PDAs the PSP is treated very much like a PRP in that we just verify that the PDA is broken, and then give a same day credit towards another PDA. If the PDA you bought originally is still in stock, then you get the same one. If it's no longer in stock, then you get your pick (an upgrade). We take the amount you spent (on the receipt) and put it towards the next one.

Some districts I heard is still sending the units to central service center to be checked out before giving you credit on PSPs though.
