I have a LD and amy wife has a T5 and yesterday she tried beaming me a game and got the message that another device could not be found. I attempted to beam her something and I got the same message. The PDAs were about 1 inch apart and we both have them set to receive items that are beamed. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Are you using Piloc or any other program that might use the IR? If yes, try disabling it before beaming or receiving.
Also, did you enable the "Beam Receive" option in the power prefs? (pretty obvious and that makes it easy to forget :p)

No, we're not. And yes, the beam receive is on. Thanks anyway.

Do a search of the LifeDrive forum on IR issues and you will find this is a real issue for many here. The LD's IR function can sometimes break when you install certain software. But it only affect beaming of data.

Usually when I have that problem, I just do a soft reset and all is fine. Sometimes my T|T3 would do that, but it hasn't lately.

That stinks that it's a problem, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I've had other problems with the LD. A current one that is frustrating but I haven't figured out how to fix it is that after I connect to the desktop or sync, the desktop then has a message that "Windows Delayed Write Failed." I've researched that problem through Microsoft and on Google, but this ONLY happens after my LD has been connected in some way. Makes me unable to access my external hard drive until I restart the computer. Ah, technology.

When you say a soft reset, do you mean just pushing in the little indentation with your stylus? If so, we tried that last night and it didn't work.
