Do you guys think its too late to get a T|C even though its an older device? I don't really care that its 5.2.1. It fits all my needs and its got a keyboard. What are your opinions. My main need is the keyboard. Plus i can get it like new for $180. And I want to stick with the POS community./
PS. Does anyone know if theres a website to purchase the T|C software disks?

I had a T|C and loved it! Only got rid of it for a NX70V when the T|C developed a screen problem and my two-year replacement policy was nearing its expiration date.

Lookin into a T|X since you can run linux as well as Palm OS. One thing I don't like T|X is there is no thumb board.

if your main needs is to have a physical keyboard i may say go for it but the 180$ seem to a lot for a old PDA im shure you can get a used TX for this price on ebays ,Classifieds and even in Pawn shop
and about the Palm OS 5.2.1 you can try the garnet mod In the same sections for ''upgrade your OS''

Now that I have my Treo 600, I really start to find value in the keyboard btw...

In my opinion I think the T|C along with the Zire 72 is one of the most useful devices ever created by Palm. I'd like the thumboard features just like in the Treo 650 you can easily input data on it, very useful for Text and email messages. Another thing the T|C is the fastest and the slickest Palm Device out there. Even if the model is more than 3 years old it still surpasses the Tungsten T5, T3, and the LifeDrive in terms of over all performance. The device was very responsive and has a built-in WiFi so with Netfront browser you can surf the web and check your email. The only thing missing in the Tungsten T|C was the built-in Bluetooth and a meager 320X320 Screen Resolution.

Ditto.
I have yet to see the replacement for my T|C and I am growing impatient.
I am a power user and the Tungsten C lets me access & control the network, access e-mail & keep all the work files I require in a tasty little MP3 / game playing package.
I am gonna freak when it dies!

Well I got some bad news. I'll be switching to a Sharp Zaurus SL-C1000 or to a Dell Axim x51v. Still doin my research. But as a lot of people say "Palm blew it." Its going to be a christmas present so if palm can pull out a new device (not smartphone) then I may stay.

UX50? And why not a smart phone? You don't have to use the phone feature for it.

'Cause Treos have crappy 320x320. :-) (Just thought I'd throw that in)

Didn't the TC have a 320x320 screen as well??

Yeah, it does have a 320x320 screen as well.
I like the Treo better because it's like the T|C, but a phone, and no WiFI (which sucks, but whatever, life goes on). And yeah, the keyboard is handy! I got my Treo 650 for CDN$300, and I see T|Cs for around the CDN$200 mark, so if that's still the case, I'd rather go hunting for an unlocked GSM Treo 650.
My CDN$0.02. :D

I purchased my T|C refurbished for $100 earlier this year and it's taken over as my primary PDA, taking over from my Zire 72 (whihc i now use as a GPS device) - though they both have functions I use exclusively - If I could merge them I would!
I am not particularly interested in the treo - I just prefer having my PDA separate from phone, so I would say if you can pick up a reasonably priced T|C then go for it - it hasn't really been adequately replaced yet and can't be matched for processing power/speed of operation.

Did you get it off a website or ebay? Cuz I'd like to get a new pda for around that price since i'm gonna be getting a laptop.

I bought a T|C in 2003 and have loved it ever since. It's been the best PDA I have ever owned. My only complaint was that it didn't have a standard stereo head phone jack, otherwise it would have been perfect. Also the Graffiti 1 hack worked, so you're set either way.
I still use mine, and it's still going strong. The only thing I'd worry about is the built-in browser getting out of date.

If anyone wants a T|C, I've still got 2 left from my collection. Unit itself for only $135 shipped, add $6 for a cradle.

I cracked my TC screen months ago, and bought myself a TX. Impressive, but it has no vibrate mode (good to use as a silent alarm or reminder). The TX can log on my router, which is WPA secured (unlike my TC). But then, my TC was faster (overclocked to 472 MHz/TX is 312 MHz)- good for watching vids, internet or playing games. The TX has more memory- 128- the TC 64- I can download more apps or media. The TX has landscape and larger screen- perfect for movies or surfing the net. But the TC has a keyboard- easy to do email, docs or maintaining your screen scratch free, or surfing the net. In the long run, I placed my TX in the closet and bought another TC on craigslist in mint condition for $60- she was getting rid of her ex-husband's junk. My TX kept crashing. Also, I noticed that while I am at meetings I am constantly in need of a keyboard- for taking notes. The TC clearly has a better visual display than the TX- looks more sharp.

LOL, just have a look at the Tungsten forums: 6 threads about Tungsten C. It can't be dead :)

Well, it needs a new battery quite honestly.

My TC battery hardly needs recharging. I can't remember the last time I ever got to the point where it died. I think the longest I let my TC out without charging- I will have to say 5 days. And I bought this TC used... I also have to give credit to an experimental fix that I got from palmpowerups- brightness fix TX. My TC without this fix, is very bright. This fix lowers even more the backlight screen (less strains on the eyes) to a more, less bright, comfortable view. And you also save battery power by not consuming alot of light.
You can thank Dmitrygr for the app.

This is fix is listed as experimental.
