I was thinking of getting a Bluetooth memory stick, because I thought it would be cool. I have a few questions about it though.
I keep looking on the sony site, and I cant find the product anywhere. Will someone please provide me a link on where to find that. I really cant find it on the sony style site.
So here are my questions.
1. Can someone provide me a link on where to get one (preferably a sony link).
2. Does the software that comes with it enable file sharing, a PAN, and other stuff? What does the software included with the BT memory stick enable you to do?
3. My friend has a Tungsten T. Can you tell me EVERYTHING I would be able to do with that?
4. Are there any specific usb bluetooth cards for my comp that wok especially well with the bt memory stick?
5. I dont have a t68i, so please dont talk about that, because I wouldnt be using it for that.
6. How would I be able to print wirelessly to a Bluetooth printer, and how could I find an attachment that makes the printer bluetooth capable?
Thankyou to ANYONE who helps, and I very much appreciate it.
NoTE: I did not post this in the wireless forum, because it pertains to the NX, and there is hardly ever any activity in that forum, so please dont tell me to post it there.
Thanks alot!

Sony either never did release the BT ms in the US or hasn't yet. So the sony site wont be selling them. THe cheapest place to get them (yes, cheaper than ebay 90% of the time), is www.expansys.com I believe they are 119. The BT english drivers can be dled from sony though, do a search for bluetooth memory stick and you'll find the link.
Bluetooth is pretty much bluetooth. ALl devices can talk with eachother in some shape and form. It baisically just works like IR would. And i don't think you can buy a printer add-on that makes it work w/ bluetooth, instad you'll have to buy a printer that already has bluetooth built in... i could be wrong though.

Yes they do, here is the link to their US division and BT MS:
http://www.expansys.us/product.asp?code=PEGA-MSB1
I think this BT MS will actually come with english drivers on the CD because it is the BT MS that was released to the UK. So you should be fine just by ordering that.

Ooops. Sorry tek, I found the expansys us site (www.expansys.us). So I found that, and thanks a lot for the heads up. I am gonna search for the english driver, so if anyone knows where it is, just post here! I think there is a bluetooth printing kit, so i'm gonna search for that.

You posted right before me.
One more question Tek- If I ordered the TDK USB bluetooth adapter, do I need a bluetooth accesspoint, or could my pda connect directly to usb device to file share, print, and other things?
So what I am asking is if I just got a ms bluetooth, and a usb bluetooth adapter, could I do everything that was mentioned earlier (ie, wilreless printing, file sharing, bluetooth syncing, internet)

TDK is to expensive. I think I am going to go with ambicom. With JUST my bluetooth memory stick and ambicom usb adapter, what could I do? Do I need an access point?
Also, my friend has a tungsten. Could we initiate "chat" sessions? With what software?
I saw a bluetooth printing adapter. Could I hook that up to a canon s900?

You can download the OS5 english BT drivers from Sony's Singapore site right here (http://www.css.ap.sony.com) . You'll have to follow the left hand navigation links for Clie Handhelds. The OS5 drivers do not come on the cd with the BT memory stick. Do NOT install any of the drivers or software from the included cd.
BT works well for hotsyncing and can be used for internet through your computer as well but the range is very short, roughly 20-25 ft, and speeds are limited to 115k. There is no support for filesharing. I haven't really tried printing but it should be possible if you have an app that supports it.
BT is great for cellphone connectivity. I use mine everyday with my T68i but if I was just using internet around the house or office the WiFi CF card is much more useful. Faster + much greater distance.

hmm. thanks for the site. I also have one more question
-----------
For bluetooth printing, what software do I need to be able to print to a bluetooth enabled printer?

I'm not aware of any software that allows printing to a BT printer or supports chat sessions to a Tungsten. I haven't really looked, however, so a 3rd party may have created them. Sony doesn't include anything for either one.

I thought I remember seeing a BT printer adapter being sold somewhere ... it looks like a little printer dongle and appears to be powered straight off the LPT port ... do a google for it, I can't rememer where I saw it (it was being sold in a package with a bluetooth USB adapter) ...
The problem with purchasing bluetooth (or anything of this sort) is that it should really be approached from the perspective of what you want to do with it, rather than what can it do for you ... the former means you're more likely to get something that is really useful and does what you'll be wanting it to do, the latter generally means you'll be performing workarounds to get what you really want done ... if you want to print and perform (basic) filesharing and the like you'll probably be best off with the wifi card ... although with wifi you'll almost certainly not be able to chat with your friend on the Tungsten unless they get a wifi card as well (has a card or sled come out for the Tungsten with wifi yet?) ...

Great refernce for installing drivers for Bluetooth Memory Stick (http://www.spug.net/reviews/rbluetoothms.htm)
I've also been watching Ebay for these sticks. The last 2 that ended sold for $100 even. Plus shipping. Some freak is selling one right now for stupid money.
Expansys is the way to go here. Getting mine after I get my phone upgraded.
