Look, I am a Clie man. I use to own the Ipaq but I gave it up for the Clie NR Series. Then now of course the NX. My best friend has the new Ipaq 5455 but I'm still not impressed with the screen. Besides that, I hate to admit it but I like it and the price. Why doe's the NZ cost $150 more?
The main reason I won't convert over is because I have (3) 128mb, (4) 32mb and (1) 64mb. My computer is Sony, both of my digital cameras are Sony. Hell, my 57" Widescreen T.V. is Sony! I bleed Sony! I thought the NX would be the last Clie I would purchase, but I guess that wasn't true. Question to all of you, if you could only buy one more Clie for 5 years, do you think the NZ would be the Clie you would buy? or Would you just wait for the next Clie? When should one stop playing this technology game? Enough is enough!
MAJI NX or ?

I would stay with the NX ----because it has almost all of the internal specs as the NZ without the 2mp camera, bluetooth and largerrrrrrrrrrrrrr size. I find it more attractive than the NZ at the moment!

I'll be getting some major mileage out of the NZ. Unless Sony makes some MASSIVE additions to the bells and whistles currently out there, I'll be here for a while.

Only thing that would make me jump quick is the addition of some major RAM. 32 would not be enough to do it for me either. As I'm reading the technology out there supposedly is at it's limits so I think I'm safe for a while. If I'm not - I've gotten pretty adept at selling one PDA to fund another without taking a major hit in the wallet.

Have any of you heard when Best Buy will have the NZ?

Popular rumour is that many places will have it between the 16th and the 20th. I've only heard that on here though

Hey LITTLESIX, do you think Sony will make the next Clie thinner than the NZ? Also do you think the NZ is going to sell like the NR series did?

OK - just to make it clear...my experience with PDA's limited. I can't comfortably call myself a power-user even though I live through my NX, and use it for work daily. I'd classify it (my experienc) as "agressive average" if that makes sense. I know more than some; lots more know more than me.

Your first question - I doubt it considering the features they're packing it with. I get the impression because of everything that it's being loaded with that the NR, NX, NZ series it gonna stay bigger than most. As to their other models, (like the T, N, or S)I have limited to no experience with them. You lose the features - you logically lose the volume of the unit itself.

HARD question to get a feel on; here's why. You take a look at the posts on this site and they are generally NOT for the NZ. The people pushing for it are a definite minority. Over at Palm Info Center (http://www.palminfocenter.com) the people who don't care for the NZ ARE the minority. Based on my limited experience (the general population of non-power users; people who probably don't frequent sites like this) I think Sony is going to get some lift on this model, but they're not going to fly out of the warehouse.

For me - I'm buying one. It's got what I need in it and I think I'm probably one of the few people on the planet that actually prefers a bigger PDA. I'm physically too big and clumsy to deal with a smaller one. Hope that helps

I mentioned before on this site that my wife works for HP/Compaq. One of her best friends in California had to compare the NZ to the Ipaq 5455. She said she loved the Sony! She said the only knock that she had against the Sony NZ was that it couldn't go completely wireless. The Ipaq 5455 can. Humm, I thought the nx could do that with the WIFI card. Also about the size, she said it fits well in here hand. Well anyway, she has a friend that works for Sony and I will be using his discount to get me and wife NZ"s. The sad thing is that we have to wait 4-6 weeks after it is released to the Public before we get 40% off. Everything else about the NZ you already heard.
