Guys, are there any way that we could delete the original clie program, such as clie viewer, clie album, photo editor, etc. I tried to use filez to delete it, but it doesnt work.
Thanks

It is not possible to delete them because they are in FlashROM, so you cannot delete them using any filemanager.
For some other Palms it was possible to delete Apps from Flash with JackFlash from www.brayder.com (http://www.brayder.com) . But unforunately there will be no release for the ClieNX (see other threads referring to jackflash and NX).

So like me, and others you will have to carry those Apps with you if want or not.

I use ZLauncher and put them in a seperate category which i hide, so i have them but do not see them and they do not fill my screen (only my memory...)

GOOD LUCK!:D

Actually, you can hide the unwanted apps. Use 'Invisible'. I have hidden several apps with this. See this thread for more info:

You can find invisible and infos about it here (http://www.palmgadget.com/palminvi.html)

If you want to buy it ($5,95) you can do that at palmgear (http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?sid=41B838FD-DEE4-4003-A0EF5B44F05E44BF&prodID=14088)

ANy suggestions? You'll need to do a soft reset to get it to work. I believe it's mentioned in the thread that anniebluesky mentioned above.

If you explore the Clie CD, you should find a folder called 'ROM hide' , there is a program to hide the original Clie apps.

I found this folder on my SJ20 CD.

Has anyone found this folder on the NX70 CD?

Well, YellowRose, I have this problem. I must play with new programs until I am forced to do a hard reset. Or, the Clie takes matters into it's own hands and does a hard reset all on it's own. (That has happened on more than one occasion.) And, this one sounds like a hard reset waiting to happen.

thank god for backupman

thank god for backupman Heh . . . I've got that 'problem' too . . . only I do it with beta software ~ I think I've currently got 4 different beta's on my NX. You should SEE the fun I have some days.

And that is why I have scheduled backups TWICE a day ~ 7a & 7p!

Annie,

Did you ever install the "system update patch" from Sony support? That eliminated my without warning hard resets.

Do you backup your memory stick too?

ROM hide is not on the NX70 CD, it must have been dropped. The person who is giving out the info is not up to date.

I scoured the CD, plus used the search function in Power Desk.

I am embarrassed to say that I have ignored that update for some reason.:o Must be my addiction taking over my actions without my knowledge. So, I have downloaded it and will hotsync. Hope that takes care of it. A hard reset out of the blue is always shocking.

yes, I use BackUpBuddy for that...but in checking it, I don't think it has done it recently. hmmmmmmm ...my settings seem to be in order.

Thanks for that info. I can rest easy tonight, and not tear that CD apart looking for it.:)
