i just installed Batmon to monitor my NIMH batts. However, when i set it up, i did not see any setting specific to NIMH batts. The only option i saw was for NiCad. Would those who have experience with Batmon please let me know if the NiCad option works correctly with NIMH?
thanks

I use Uptime to monitor my battery. It's free and works great. Don't know if it does anything more or less than Batmon.
NIMH and Nicad batteries work on the same general principle, but the former last about twice as long. I think that their overall power curves are shaped very similarly, which is probably all Batmon cares about.

For those who need the link to download uptime, here it is (freeware) (http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?sid=41B838FD-DEE4-4003-A0EF5B44F05E44BF&prodID=1306)
I wonder if there is something like Runtime for OS5 devices ?

as far as i can tell, it seems like i've run into the same problem some other Batmon users (that i've read about) ran into. I've been using my Clie for maybe 45 minutes on NIMH batts and it still says 100%. I doubt this is true. Maybe cuz i plugged in an AC adapter for a bit- who knows? [By the way, that Ripvan charger ]www.ripvan100.com (http://www.ripvan100.com) is excellent- it's so small and portable, and thank goodness, no wires! My NIMH 700Mah AAA were done in ~45min].
Uptime, or probably Hackmaster, is giving problems as well. Had to reset. It would not allow me to set battery type to NIMH. It insisted on NiCad or Alkaline, even though i had NIMH inside. besides, how would i know when the battery is too low just from the battery time that is given on the screen? there's not too much info with the app.
any suggestions or other programs? thanks.

I tested mine to the warning, and use the current elapsed time to gage how long I have left. Without knowing the exact battery curve for an individual unit, that's all any program can do.
Try X-Master 1.5 instead of Hackmaster. It's more stable with newer programs and is free.
