Hi,
I have a Card Reader to connect by USB to XP and I use CF + MS cards in my NX. My question is: will I have any kind of problem when using the Card Reader with this cards? Can they get corrupted in some way? Will the windows system create any file (for volume control) or directory that can be a problem later on for the Palm OS?
Thanks, I just don't want to ruin a card and its information.

I use a card reader all the time, with no problems.

Yes, you should be able to create all the files you want on your card. The NX will just ignore them if it doesn't know what to do with them. I stick all sorts of files on my memory stick just for transporting them.

I used a number of different card readers with my MS and never had problems on my Clie (yeah, I don't have a Clie anymore, but I like visiting this section)...
Just remember to Eject (or Safely remove, depending on the type of reader) to ensure that all writes have been flushed before removing the card.
Also, not all card readers support MS Pro larger than 256 MB. The newer ones should be fine, but some of the older ones won't work beyond a certain size.

You shouldn't encounter any problems using the cards in an external reader. The only thing to be carefull of is, if you reformat your card, make sure you change the format type to FAT/FAT16, not FAT32 unless of course you install a FAT32 driver on your NX, but that is another story.

i have been using card readers for my MS and CF, even my fake MS Duo works fine. used it both for my former Clie NX70 and NX80, as well as my Sony Cybershot.
it's very useful especially when transferring large amounts of files, and it will probably save your precious Clie some battery by not using the Data Import software.

Thanks people. I've been using it and without any issues. It's strange to notice though that many Window Mobile devices have issues with cards... I've read people getting the cards erased, not one or two...
