I thought I was able to do this, or maybe it's the PC I'm on, but can't you offload a pciture from the Clie's memory stick into Picture Gear Lire 4.4 or some other photo program? Please advise, and thanks for all y'all's response. This is a great web-site

Yes. All you need to do is to put your Clie on the cradle, launch MSImport. Once 'Removable drive', which is your MS, appear on the Windows Explorer, then you just launch PictureGear 4.4 Lite and find the 'Removable drive' folder. At this point your Clie acts as the MS card reader for the PC. You'll see the thumbnail pictures of the PGPocket in MS. If you can't get the 'Removable drive' to appear, you may need to install MSExport to your PC from the Clie's Installation CD-ROM, as it contains the MS drive.

If, when taking your pic, you choose to have it saved as as "DCIF" file on your MS, then when running MSImport, you can just copy/cut it to whatever folder on you PC that you want, and open it in your image program (ie, Photoshop, etc). If you've saved it on MS as a "PGP" file, then yeah, using PicturGear is what you'll have to do.
