Just installed SMBMATE and TCPMP player, just wondering if there is a way to stream music from my PC shared files via WiFi to my TH55. I read that someone does this in one of the smbmate threads but searched and could not find how.
Is it possible with a different media player?
Thanks

Pocket Tunes Deluxe is the only one that I know of that streams music, but others may know of different solutions.

How can you stream direct from your own hard drive with pocket tunes? I have tried various method without success.
Canoemarc: you need to set up an mp3 streaming server on your computer, and then use Pocket tunes to open a streaming audio bookmark file to that server.
As for using SMBMate, it should automate this process: just make your playlist point at the SMBMate enabled external card (which is really your network share) and it will automatically stream the audio as you request it. However, SMBMate doesn't work well on NVFS devices, if you have one of those.

I use Slimserver(freeware) from slimdevices. It's great, i stream my music to work, laptop around house on wi-fi, palm(pockettunes) in my bedroom, my wi-fi is not strong enough for my th55 in the backyard.

If I'm wrong, LET ME KNOW because this sounds great, especially for freeware.

Right then:
Slimserver from slim devices
P-tunes deluxe
An already working wireless network
Follow the instructions for remote streaming.
1) In p-tunes, go to open file, and enter http://localhost:9000/stream.mp3
2) Open slimserver - which should open a web page, with left and left halves
3) In right half enter the IP address of your clie (find this by going into connections, then details, connecting to a wireless network then tapping the top of the screen for connection details, IP, MAC etc...)
4) Select songs from the host computer in the left half of the screen
5) They should begin to play automatically
Best thing is that you can actually access the web page localhost:9000... frim the pda, and browse music files and add them to the playlist to be streamed without getting near the host PC
Enjoy
Key words:
PDA, Palm OS, Clie TH55, music, streaming, wireless

Sorry; I had a mindblat on that one. The software that lets you do that is WiFiGenie, not SMBMate.
