I can't believe there's a better browser on the PSP than those we have on our PDAs. I was amazed to see how beautifully rendered the pages looked on my cousins PSP and today I was shook to see the messenger for the Nintendo DS, it allows custom avatars, emoticons, custom status before sign in, stand by when the lid is closed, allows to change the nickname, tabs with scrollable names on them, shows "user is typing" and it even supports sending and receiving ink messages!!!
Why can't we have applications like those on our Palms? Also the Opera which is coming to the Nintendo DS looks so weet. I also saw the incredible GUI of the iRiver Clix, it would be nice to have an mp3 player application similar to it.
Well I just wanted to express my thoughts.
Here is the video of the messenger on a DS. :p

First of all, PSP and DS aren't PDAs, I think. They are gaming machines and they can't do all tasks that our PDAs can do like versatile ways to store text. And if they really would be that good on everything that Palm os can do, I think that there would much less people in 1src right now or in general pda users.
Only which is stopping our Palm os getting better browsers and IM apps are developers. Of course PSP and DS are both are powerfull but I think it is more on programmer skill to develope something that powerfull. That is one reason why I doubt badly will Universe ever win over the Netfront, because Netfront was made by experts. Of course it is possible but it will require much time and therefore experience.
Anyway, I know exactly how you feel on this. Such as devices like PSP and DS have example very gorgeous screens compare to our th55s even they have great screen but still they are very showing their "next generation" powerfullness very well and that will made us go green because of jealous! But remember this, it is the usability which makes the difference not the appearence. Many goes devices just because of their appearance.

They do have nice interfaces, though maybe it was just because I had a very first batch PSP, but my PSP seemed pretty darn lacking when I had it and it still had its browser. Updates probably made it better though.
I find the PDA touchscreen > anything PSP / DS can offer though, because the PDA can do things that my PC can do, and PSP / DS sure can't. I like them all though, because I am a gadget nerd.
