Has anyone been able to use the T68i via bluetooth to send and receive e-mail with Clie mail? I have been able to use the Internet this way with the NZ90 but cannot get it set up to work with Clie mail.

If you can do this:

1) How is the Connection set up?
2) How is the Network set up?
3) What did you have to do with the T68i to set it up?
4) Are you using your ISP (mine is Earthlink) or ATT as your ISP?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks,

I have an NR that I link to my T68i via infrared - but I think the settings are similar. For infrared I did the following:

In preferences, I created a new connection; connect to modem, via infrared (assume you would select bluetooth); dialing touchtone, volume low, speed 57,600, flow ctrl automatic, init string atz.

In preferences, under network, select Windows RAS. My username was username@mobile.att.net since I use attws. The password is the Mmode password. Select the connection name you created above. The phone string should be *99***1#.

This gets you to a point where you can connect and surf the net - so based on your message I assume you are already there.

The only mail program I was able to actually SEND mail from was Iambic Mail. I was able to download mail in most of the mail programs. I needed to set up two accounts in iambic mail - one for getting my usual email and one to send mail using my mmode email address. I had to do this because it appears that mmode (att wireless) will not let you send mail through any smtp other than theirs - and their smtp will not send any mail that does not have a domain name it recognizes.

For ATT wireless, the incoming server needs to be set to IMAP4 and is imap.attwireless.net. The outgoing server is smtp.attwirelss.net. Send authorization required needs to be checked in order to send mail.

This has worked well for me - in iambic mail I have the ATTWS email set up as my default for sending when I reply to any messages, and I am able to get my usual mail to review. You can set it up to preview the messages before downloading the entire message which is helpful if anything large or unwanted comes your way.

Hope this helps. If anyone has figured out how to send mail from your usual email address via ATTWS rather than from the ATT address, please post.

Thanks. I have had about the same experience. I have now been able to send e-mail via imap.attwireless.net from the NZ90 through bluetooth to the T68i, but cannot receive it from mMode. I have been able to receive e-mail through mail.earthlink.net, but cannot send it? So, I can send and receive, just not with the same account. I am still working on it. Appreciate your insight.

Ok, it has been along time since I played with the settings and got it working, here are some of the settings:

POP3 Port # = 110
SMTP Port # = 25
Authentication = SMTP AUTH (This may have made the difference)

Incoming mail server (POP3):
mail.earthlink.net

Outgoing mail server (SMTP):
smtpauth.earthlink.net (I think this setting helped also)

Hope that helps, let me know if not. It was a great day when I got the settings correct and could send and receive from anywhere. Hope it works for you.

I figured this out on accident afters hours a day for about 3 days. It's the regular settings, but the trick is go into the deeper settings and select auth smtp also. then you can send recieve w/ no probs!
