Some people asked us which licence we use for our Wiki. And we have no idea as there are some possible choices, e. g. CreativeCommons, GPL and GFDL. They all have pros and cons. So please tell us what you think, and of course tell us if you know other possible licences.
In case you don't know our Wiki:

It's a Wiki for all Palm related things. And we hope this thread will bring us new editors (it isn't very full and we have not enough editors yet).
Thank you,
Alex

I figure a creative commons license would probably be good. Whatever is the most applicable in the most number of countries.
Yes, more editors are REALLY needed. I've been deleting spam from the wiki for a week or two now, a sad side-effect of good PageRank/Alexa-Rank at that domain.

You're TungstenEguy?
I read something about Creative Commons that it restricts commercial use and some other things, but I will have a look at it.
Spam: I'll see if MediaWiki supports plugins. If yes, I think there are chances to get less spam posts.
* The German Palmwiki has a Ed1t button. They hope that the spam machines don't recognize it.
* blocking IP addresses or IP ranges
* only permit less than five new hyperlinks per post
and so on

if we publish under CC, we can't change the license, thats a part of the law. so decide carefully.
maybe free BSD?
