is it possible to use my palm to connect to the internet on my computer? Like hook it up to my computer (not connected to the internet) and use the palm as a wireless device... lol srry if this is like totally impossible but just wanted to know... dont want to spend money on like a linksys thing...

Yeah. I don't know if you want to use the PDA to connect the PC to the internet or use the PC to connect the PDA to the internet. In any case, you will need either wifi or bluetooth. Bluetooth requires a dongle/adapter (must purchase or have built-in) or use a wifi router. Otherwise, it's not possible unless you mean via a USB link.
