I am leaving to go to Vegas tommorow and I wanted to add about 200 songs to my 1 gig MS stick. I already have a few movies on it so I only had about 300 Megs left. Since 200 songs would have taken up too much space I needed to down convert them to 56k a sec from 128k. I found this program (http://www.cdex.n3.net/) which will batch convert a whole directory to make things pretty easy. Check it out if you ever need a free batch down converter.

I find iTunes the simplest of all, especially since there aren't too many mp3 apps out on mac (most are major video editing tools that have a minor in mp3).

I recently found this audio file converter: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm
It can convert from/to a variety of formats and it can downsample mp3's easily. I've used it to fit more songs on my memory stick. It's extremely flexible and easy to use. Best of all it is free.
Cheers!

Download the DMP MP3 converterrecommended by Shaunknaak. It works well. Sound quality is good and very easy to use. Does any one how to covert a realtime file format to mp3 format. The converter does not have this option.
