I got to page 12 and all I read was something about soft reset and page 13 writes of hard reset. Anyone can make this in simple english.

Did you use Sony's new Wizard for setup? It also includes the latest driver. You make it sound like it's simple, but it's not. There are a ton of threads with info, some of which is in a post pinned at the top of this forum.

Try first to setup everything DHCP and auto settings in the Clie. Leave WEP Key blank until everything is working. SSID is case sensitive, use infrastructure mode, and make sure powersavemode is un-checked.
