I need to find a way to charge my newly acquired UX50.
I have no accessories but the AC adpater.
SO i can easily get 5V from the AC adapter and thought I'd apply the current (temporarily attach wires) as shown in the following picture.
In case the picture won't attach, I figured the positive to be on the left side and ground to be on the right, when the unit is put face down (as so you can read the serial number).
Is it totally crazy or should it work?

I would suggest that you check out the USB charging (http://www.tompda.com/bbs/display.asp?forumID=1551566&luntan=3&CurPageNo=1) mod as well (site is in Japanese but the pictures are very clear).
Alternatively, I do have a spare UX charger and cradle (BNIB) if you are interested.

Could you point where to get it?
Not found on eBay... I keep finding standard USB cables, but those require the internal USB mod... i'm scared to do it...

Not sure where you're located, but if all goes well with my replacement ux50 from ebay, I'll have an extra charging cradle. PM me if you're interested.
You can get a really cool leather case combo. Thats what I have. It allows you to charge the ux50 from the protective case. Ive got a sneaky feeling that it may have been discontinued coz I cant seem to find it online. Gadget Infinity sold it to me but they arent selling any more. Someone on this forum may know where you can still get them.
