This weekend my card mysteriously disappeared. I don't mean it took a walk, it was still in my TX. But the TX didn't see it. I substituted my 512mb SanDisk card I had had in it before and the TX didn't see that either. I then put in the 128mb SanDisk card which I had never used in this device (I actually got it from my son when I bought him a 512mb card for his T|C). The 128mb card worked fine. I put the 4gb card in my PC and everything showed up fine (Phew!!). After copying the whole card to my PC at home (I copy it regularly to my work PC), I put it back in my TX and it was working again!?
Anybody have any similar experiences?

I have a Treo 700p and a PQI 4GB SD card and it disappears alot it will not reappear till I do a reset. Do you have Zlauncher installed? I have a feeling is app related not hardware related.

Not completely similar but... once I actually had quite a few files "disappear" from my card after using either CardExport or CardReader (I can't remember which one) and not using the little "Eject Hardware/Safe Removal" thing on Windoze before stopping the app on the Palm side.
I started backing up my card and have been conscious about using the eject hardware app and have not had a problem since. I think something was still writing or reading to my card and interrupted the process and corrupted the card.

I was not using either app at the time. Although I do have both scheduled to launch via 2PlayMe in order to do backups on my work computer. For the past couple of days I've just been cancelling the launches (tapping disconnect in CE and just letting it disconnect itself in CR when it sees no I/O) because every time I connect to my work computer I get a BSOD with the recalcitrant app being PalmUSBD.sys. I contacted Palm support about it and they said to uninstall my Palm desktop and reinstall.
Anyway my card is back. I've never used that safe removal thing with either app. I didn't think I needed to. I will think twice in the future. :o

I have read in other forums that the 4GB A-Data can be "flimsy." Also note that Windows and PalmUSBD driver have some issues. About the only consistency I have been able to observe from the posts I have seen is that this occurs less frequently when sync cable is not plugged in while performing the software install.

Thanks. But I'm not sure what you mean by flimsy. I read about not connecting your sync cable during install, I believe I followed those instructions at home, but I don't remember what I did at work. When I uninstall and try again, I'll make sure not to have it connected.

I have a Lexar 512mb that periodically "disappears" on my Zodiac. I don't use it anymore, but sometimes it would be recognized and sometimes not. It would even drop out on me while reading a book in ereader. Got to be a bad card.
Of course, you just had 2 cards do the same thing to you, didn't you, Tom?

yeah. The 512mb SanDisk card I used the whole time I had my T|T and until I got my 4GB on my TX. I never had a problem with it - except it was getting too small  . The 4GB has been a beauty until now. It has a lifetime warranty (Thank Goodness! - That's one of the main reasons I bought it) and I'm hoping I'll never have to use it.
What didn't make any sense is that neither seemed to be recognized at all. All 3 cards were in the same hard case (the two extras in the card holders). I wonder if someone passed a magnet over them or something? If it was wiped, that might be a possibility.

Every now and then I need to reset before the card is recognized in my TX. Works fine in my PC though.

I have a 2gb Corsair on it's way to me from ZipZoomFly. I have two smaller Corsair SD cards and I really like them. The price of these cards has come way down lately.
