I have set up Life Drive manager. I drag and drop photos to it per the instructions. When I attempt to access the photos on my LD it shows Launch Error: "The application cannot be launched because it is missing localization information." What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

Just try reinstalling it, should work.

Do you mean re-install the entire Palm OS?

I have deleted and re-installed the Palm OS. Same problem persists. The file (photo) in question shows in the Life Drive Manager side after I drag and drop it from the "My Pictures" folder on my PC. But, the error message still comes up on the LD when I click on "Photos & Videos".

There is no seperate install for Life Drive Manager, as far as I can tell, on the CD. It installs when you install the Operating System. The Shortcut is on my desktop and opens the Manager. It appears to be functioning ok, but the photo will not show on my LD and the error message continues.

Anyone else have a suggestion?

I found this solution in the Palm, Inc. Support Knowledge Library:

To correct this issue you will need to install the file xxx_enUS.prc (where xxx is the file name, ex. Dialer_enUS.prc) using the Palm™ Install tool.

I hope this helps.

Thanks Heather. Actually I am such a Ludite that your solution was beyond my grasp. I called Palm support and the technican guided me to a solution, ie. change the folder "Backup" to "Backupold" in the Palm programs on my PC. Then a hard reset and new Hotsynch caused that change on my LD. All was solved and now it works great!

Yikes! Hard resetting your device so that your PC works correctly? Well, you got the result you were looking for and are content, so that's important. Glad it worked out.

It seems to me that the change in the folder changed the function in the LD when I hotsynched. The folder got on the PC upon installation of the Palm OS and must have been a glitch vis a vis the previous OS I was using with my T2.

i believe the LD didn't like what it was recieving from the PC with the old folder. But, yes I am content.
