Palm is selling now VersaMail 3.5 on PalmGear (http://www.palmgear.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=software.showsoftware&PartnerREF=&siteid=1&catid=0&area=software.newupdated&searchtitle=Search%20Results&searchterm=&step=1&orderby=modificationdate&direction=asc&userid=0&prodid=124074 )
It's only for use with the Treo 650, the Palm TX and the LifeDrive. The price is $9.99. Has anybody already tried it out?
Cheers.

You can't even download a trial version. No updated features listed. And will it overwrite the version installed in ROM?

This page (http://www.palm.com/us/products/smartphones/treo700p/email.html) on the 700p lists "NEW Features in VersaMail 3.5":
Wirelessly sync contacts
Download contacts — plus calendar and email info — directly from your company's Exchange 2003 server with built-in Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
Open PDF Attachments
Open PDF files you receive as email attachments using Documents To Go (included).
Easier Access to Sort Options
Select the Sort button to organize your email — sort by subject, sender, size, or date.
Smarter Addressing
VersaMail software now remembers email addresses and domains you've previously sent email to.The "Open PDF Attachments" feature is not actually a feature of VersaMail but the newer Documents to Go.
I personally do not find these new features compelling.

I wonder if it would work on a Sony TH55? I know that it says that it ONLY works with current Palm, but still...

Be VERY careful if your going to try it on an unsupported device.
I didn't read the info properly on Palmgear and installed it on my Clie TJ37. It put the TJ37 into a reset loop and also the files it installed in Windows broke hotsink!
Luckily I could restore from the morning's Resco backup, but I had to reinstall Palm desktop to fix the hotsync problem.
Palmgear were great though, and gave me a refund immediately.

I tried VersaMail 3.5 some time ago on my TC. Everything worked except HTML mail view.
VM 3.1 will open pdf attachments if one has any app on board (palmpdf, picselproviewer or D2G) that registers with the system as a pdf reader, so I dont understand why this is worth making a noise about...

Be sure to give a review of the N560 when you get it. I too would be interested in this device. It looks great. But i will wait to see what other have to say about it first. Make sure you compare it to the LD as well. Thanks.
Also, can this device be used in the US?

I've just bought it for my TX. Initial impression is it's much faster. With the original Versamail on the TX, it took about 25 seconds to open an email, the first time it was run after a reboot. This version opens in a couple of seconds.
I like it, but haven't tested it properly yet
