I am just wondering if it was possible or has anyone tried to convert the 160MB of internal memory of the T5 into RAM?

I would love to know this too... :-)

Yeah it would allow as to install more applications to directly to the hardware, it would be better :)

There was something released (in beta?) a while ago by the creator of Jack Sprat etc. (Too lazy to look up the creator) that converted a memory card to virtual RAM. Although not useful with SD cards (because you can't swap out cards), it may be useful here. Unfortunately it is no longer available (Too many problems) and I'm not sure that it supported the use of NVFS instead of memory cards, but it does seem like it could be possible (Although there were reports of the files on the memory card having NVFS-like incompatibility problems).

So in short, it may be possible, but there will be bugs and there is no current solution (That I'm aware of).

i prefer to use my own implementation of nvfs instead. all the advantages with none of the problems :-P

Dmitry, is it possible to combine the RAM and Internal memory areas? I would happily pay for this feature...?

i gave up on the idea. i just rewrote nvfs. works fine.

Ah ok. Forgive me for being stupid, but how does your nvfs re-write help? Would I be able to try it?

it helps by removing all nvfs problems
and no you cannot try it.
i havent [and likely will not] release it

Why are you so greedy with it? :(
Sharing is caring. . . :D

Not that I care. . . I don't have a T5

i am not greedy. it is not configurable. all config is in code in form of "#define"s so to make it configurable etc would be a pain not worth the trouble.

now it is setup just like i want it (64mb nv flash, 64mb internal flash card, 32 mb joined dynamic+cache ram), optimizations for maximum performance (not for space)

Hi Dmitry,

I am an owner of a T5
I want maximum performance as well.
Can you just provide custom ROM for T5 just as you did in TX?
I would like my dynamic memory to increase.
Having problems with UDMH.
It crashes on the installed Flash Player and PalmPDF of my T5.
It renders my UDMH useless because most other apps dont need much dynamic memory.

Let the man have his toy. . . :) When you can code your own programs, you can config a hack for yourself. :)

It is still up to him if he should give it or not-I am just hoping he will be willing to help. Anyway, I am stuck with his UDMH for increasing dynamic memory. As I have said, the applications I need if for does not do me any good. It is true that the applications read an increased dynamic memory but I get fatal alerts during its use. Awaiting his further updates to it.
