Appicon, X launcher and apps on SD

Noticed something weird when using appicon alongside launcherX. If you change an apps icon and then move it to the SD card within LauncherX - you see the original icon in launcherX but the changed one in the os "applications". Is it the same with other launchers and appicon (ispin / app shelf / z launcher)?

If this is puzzling any other launcherX users, I figured out a work around (don't know why it works but it does for me although I am sure there are other ways of doing it) First use a "dummy" app and change its icon via appicon to the one you want for your target app. Then use "ChangeMe" to transfer the dummy apps new icon to the target app and only then move the target app to the SD. Now you will still see the pretty new icon in launcherX as well as in the OS "applications".

I've never heard of X Launcher. I use LauncherX and do not have any problems using appicon.

Sloppy typing on on my part - I meant LauncherX - its only been on my LD for a week so I'm not that familar with it. However I definately loose my Appicon icons if I have assigned them before transferring the target app to the SD card or the hard drive (drag and drop with LaucherX). Just tried it again to make sure and yep I wasn't imagining it. However if I transfer them back to the internal I can always see the Appicon assigned new icon again. The ChangeMe method is the only thing that keeps them showing on the SD card for me.

I wonder what I am doing differently from you?

I just tried what you were saying about moving to card and I lost the assigned icon also. What is ChangeMe?

Cool small freeware app by the AuDodo developer that lets you steal icons for a target app from another - also lets you change the name of apps and hide apps. You will find it here -

NB: As ChangeMe itself doesn't have an icon (a kind of deliberate first project for the user I guess) I used ChangeMe to give it Obfuscate's icon - which is really appropriate for it (and then deleted Obfuscate).
