I'd like to be able to test whether the unit (in this case a TX) is connected or not before launching Card Export or Cardreader. I'm sure this can be done, because OnLaunch monitors the ConnectorAttach and ConnectorDetach events and will launch programs appropriately. But I schedule a backup of my card using 2PlayMe to launch either CE or CR, then I use either syncback or synctoy from my PC. This is all timed fairly precisely and so works fine. One of the drawbacks is that on long weekends, like this past one (I took Monday off), my device still thinks it is time to do a card backup to my computer. So 2PlayMe launches CE/CR but can't connect. CardReader at least has a setting where it will turn off if there is no I/O activity, but Card Export is better for my needs because syncback has a setting to disconnect when the transfer is complete, this setting doesn't work with CardReader because of it's dialog box that comes up asking if you wish to work in the background (at least I think that is the reason it doesn't work).
So the long and short of it is if I could test if the unit is connected first I would save a lot of battery. This is because CE doesn't have an option to turn off if there is no I/O activity.
(of course it would be best if both these apps tested this for themselves)
