Anybody aware if they are able to extend the current address quantity limit of Address Book that came with the CLIE?

I've already maxed out about a month ago. Deleted a few, but I'm expecting to max out again in a few more weeks. It's going to get to the point for me where I'm going to have to say, no more cutting. Everything I have, I need.

Thanks ahead of time.

LeeD, I'm unaware of any limits. How many addresses do you have?

This isn't the first time I've heard something like this, but I don't know anything about it. Just to make sure, I assume this isn't a "not enough RAM" problem?

Is it a Palm OS or application limitation? Maybe it's time to buy a third-party app like Supernames?

Yes, there are limits, but I believe that they're limited to synchronization with Palm Desktop:

"There is a limit of 10376 number of records that can be synchronized to the Palm™ Desktop Address book application (for Windows), and a limit of 9866 records you can manually 'enter in' the Desktop. After 9866 you can no longer enter new records in the Palm Desktop, (but you can synchronize up to 10376!).

You can continue to enter new records in the handheld, but these records will not synchronize to the Desktop.

Once the limit (10376) is reached File Link will stop synchronizing additional records to the handheld.

File Link performs a check on the modified date of the file.

As a recommendation, keep the number of records in the File Link source file (typically .CSV and .TSV type files) and the handheld to under 9866 records."

You might consider dumping a large portion of your address db into a simple text file, and then convert it to palm doc format. I keep my most used addresses in the addressbook, and convert a 3000 person company addressbook into doc, updating it monthly. You can do simple text searches in the doc file to find those seldom used numbers. You'll save memory and searching your std addressbook will be much easier.
