View Full Version : AcidImage 2.6a?????? is this worth the try?
Distinguished members of the biggest and more comprehensive clie online forum on the net  ,
ive been hearing a lot about this new alfa release of the killer app acidimage. Im currently running 2.5 in my nx at the moment, but dunno if there have been any improvements in tterms of speed mainly or if tehre are any at all.
Could any of you involved in alfa testing or just plain installing madness of every new release that comes out :D expand on this topic?
Thanx a lot!!!

Certainly.
According to the information from Red Mercury, there are no enhancements to AI 2.6a other than re-enabling the Exchange Manager support. It is otherwise identical to the release version of 2.5.
What does this mean to you?
The Exchange Manger piece allows you to view image attachments in mail messages within SnapperMail (for example) without having to first save the attachment, exit SM, open AI, navigate to the image and open it; then exit AI, re-open SM and then reply. You can simply select the attachment, choose View in AcidImage, be whisked into AI with the image open, then exit AI and be returned to where you started (namely the email which contained the attachment).
Hope this helps,
Scott

It does help, any chance this works with versa mail's newest realease (2.5)? its a bugger that i cant really just open attached jpegs from the mail message itself....

I tried it. Yes I can remove the 'lousy' jpegwatchlite.

But it can't be use in my NZ90's flash ram. Wait for support maybe in next beta 2.6b.

Another nice thing of 2.6a is, that you can beam a picture via BlueTooth to your device and AI will display it. No need for a filemanager or something...

Seph,
Sorry for the delay (holiday weekend and all).
I can't answer your query on whether it works with VersaMail or not (I don't use that; having a Clie and having bought into SnapperMail already). I would lean towards saying yes (I'd hope Palm's own app supports the exchange manager); but I certainly don't want someone out there quoting me on that as a definite.
