FontSmoother 1.76 released

I am releasing version 1.76 of FontSmoother, my shareware utility for smooth fonts on OS 5 hi-res devices. You can use included pre-built or make your own with Quick Make Font or EasyConvert

Well no matter what I do, it still shows v 1.75. I disabled YAHM 1st but it doesn't seem to matter.
Any thoughts?

Well, I found your zip archive and downloaded that and installed it. Seemed to work fine.

I bought this a while ago. I guess I still don't know what I bought. What exactly does it do. I've read the description and still don't know why I bought it. I think when it came out everybody was talking about it and I thought I would get it too.
Will this work along side of Fonts4OS5? Or in place of?

Both Palmgear and ZLThemes downloads show version 1.75 once the executable setup routine starts.

A bunch of mainly Windows fonts. The bottom is Tahoma (generate with Quick Make Font or EasyConvert). The top--well, a lot of fonts...

I have noticed in the last few fontsmoother version a regression has showed up.

A few months ago I reported a bug when fontsmoother is set to use Fonts4OS5 settings that fontsmoother didn't pick up the subfont correctly. This bug appears to be back.

To see it in fonts4os5 set:
Standard Font to BigBold
Bold Font to BigStandard
BigStandard to Bold
BigBold to Standard.

Then make sure Fonts4OS5 is NOT enabled and select fontsmoother to Fonts4OS5 settings. You will see that it picks the right Font, but not the right subfont.

I have noticed in the OnDemand (Handmark Express) Application in my Treo 700p that in some places the text doesn't show up (I think its similar to the blazer problem - but its still broken in v1.76). Actually this doesn't appear to be a font smoother problem - as I just turned it off the application and I still see no text. I have to disable Fonts4OS5 completely to see the text in OnDemand.

Anyway to pass this bug on to Lubak?

I don't think the subfont feature works with standard fonts. You need an actual non-OS font.

I wasn't using the default font. For example in email I use:
Standard: arial 8 Bold
Bold: arial 9 Bold
big standard: arial 9 big standard
big bold: arial 9 big bold

if I disable fonts4os5 and in fontsmoother select is fonts4os5 settings - the standard font will be arial 8 standard not bold. You had fixed this at one point In the 1.6x versions.

Weird. It works for me in my quick test. I assigned a bold font to standard and it worked. I don't know what's happening. Are you using FS 1.76 and the latest Fonts4OS5?

I'm noticing (using Skin UI v2 with Fontsmoother 1.76) that the fonts on the dialog box (specifically the word's "Getting Messages" or "Connecting") that pops up when my Treo connects to Sprint Vision or e-mail or we access respectively are "fuzzy." It only seems to happen on the box when connecting for e-mail or web access, not in other circumstances.

Any ideas on this? It seems to be a font issue...
