I saw this (http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?threadid=113953) thread over at howardforums about a version of the Sony Ericsson T608 called the "T608c" that is meant for Verizon's network. SE T608/T608c are BT integrated mobiles!!! According to the rumors the T606 and T608c are slated for release by August 9th 2003! Prices are reported to be $299.99 for T606 before contract, and $499.99 for the T608c before contract.

Personally, I still prefer Sprint's unlimited data plans, but Verizon's coverage is bar-none! :D

 Am I the only one excited about this? This is the 1st time there will be a BT mobile for any cdma provider! BT mobile with Verizon's excellent coverage would be a very nice combo IMO...

gfunkmagic, Sprint is supposely getting the same phones also. I 'm excited because for one thing I can actually use bluetooth for something other than hotsyncing and I will still be working for Best Buy.

Hi gfunkmagic, I'm excited, but is this still happeningor what?

I haven't heard anyting else about it.

Meanwhile I went ahead got the LG VX camera phone anyway, but I'd rather have bt.

strong, that VX6000 is AWESOME! I just saw it yesterday and I'm really tempted to dump my Moto T720.

as for verizon getting a new bluetooth phone, I seriously doubt it for the near future. There have'nt been any new posts about bluetooth phones for verizon (except the old moto 270c and SE T61c)

Hi yoyoYoo, I'm loving this thing.

Had the Adiovox/Toshiba 9500 and it was time to upgrade and this beauty came out.

I think 9500's call quality was a tad better, but otherwise the 6000 smokes it.

Most intuitive phone I ever used!

The menus are sweet, the pics are sweet and you've seen the screen.

Now, are you on your 3rd or 4th T720 or were you one of the lucky ones and you only had to take it back once? :)

Still no data cable available the 6000 yet though.

im on my first t720 hehe. luckily mine seems all right. a few bugs here and there, but I do not want to claim warranty and get a crappier version...

but yes the one thing holding me back is lack of a data cable to connect to my palm. Do you know if one is coming out? i wish verizon had a new bluetooth phone.

as for the SET608, rumors are that verizon is never coming out with one, seeing as how SE has officially decided to stop supporting CDMA wireless technology, I don't see why though, as CDMA wireless is far superior than GSM.

Unfortunately, I don't think this will phone will ever come out since SE recently reported that they were abndoning the NA cdma market. I dout Verizon will ever release this phone...it is simply dead. Also, it's doubtful if even Sprint will release this phone. Most rumors and info from insiders at HoFo's say that Sprint has cancelled this phone. :( Thus, you were probably wise to go ahead with the LG VX...

I just got my VX6000 yesterday. :D I love this phone. I had Sprint for 10 days with the Samsung N400 but returned the phone because of poor coverage in my area.

Great news... you can setup the VX6000 to get free WAP. I just uses your voice minutes. I know it's off topic, so I'm not gonna post the specs, but if someone's interested, let me know. With free WAP, who needs PCS?

the vx6000 is very nice. the only thing keeping from it, is the lack of cable connecting the clie. it's a similiar problem with the samsung a530 cable, which is almost becoming vapor ware with supplynet.

but then again, i have my doubts that verizon will be releasing a bluetooth phone any time soon, so there really isn't a great current or soon to be, that has a cable to connect to clie.

Have any of you guys seen the Sony Ericsson T610 / T616? Very nice 65K color screen phone with built in camera, bluetooth and infrared. T610 is being sold by T-Mobile and T616 by AT&T / Cingular.

those are basically the same phone, being the set616 is the us version.

problem is - gsm coverage 'sucks' in my area. i don't care about phone cost and cancelling a contract. i care about voice quality, since that is the main reason i use a phone, rather than data connectivity. and by the same token, if you can't get consistent voice connectivity, you can't get good data connectivity.

and since the newer moto and lg and samsung phones do not have irda, you have to use a cable.

i think a tt2 and set610 is a nice combo. 2 very small devices, hooked up together via bluetooth, and the set610 has a nx70/nx73 quality camera. price is about what you'd pay for a nz90 by itself.

OcellNuri, I had the free wap set up on my old 9500 before got the 6000 and I'm doing the same thing now!

Are you emailing pics to your phone from Vpix or from your own email addr? I'm doing both.

This phones are so new in my area, I don't have enough friends that have it yet to send and receive to from phones. So I just send it to their email addresses right now.  :)

I'm doing the exact same things, except I don't use Vpix to get images and ringers to my phone. I just use my earthlink Pop3 account. I don't have unlimited photo messages yet though, so they cost me 25 cents per hit right now. I'm about to get the unlimited option though. At least it will be unlimited until Janurary.

The unlimited package is pretty good and I in Jan(like you stated) it goes down to something reasonablelike 100 text messages/20 for $5.00/month.

Ocell, don't forget to send your rebate form in.

I amost forgot!

I'm sending mine tomorrow.

I need those data cables now! :)
