Hello All. Done alot of searches, and I have a Sprint PCS 3G Vision phone (Samsung N400) with USB cable, and the Sony NX70V, which has a USB cradle connection. Looking for some ideas for connecting the two. I've considered the USB to Serial converter idea, but not sure if there is an easier way. Thanks for your help and time.

I emailed supplynet on Feb 21 and they said they were working on such a cable. I asked them when they expected it to become available and they said (at the time of the email) a couple months. The only other option to connect a Clie to Sprint is to use the LG phone. There is a serial cable available for that phone.
You may want to check sprintusers.com for more info.

thack, I just wanted to say thank you for suggesting the sprint users site. I was unable to find a way to connect my n400 to my clie but that site is amazing and I love my phone so much more now that I have gotten so much information. Thanks again,
Amber

Hey,
I've been working on marrying my Clie and v60 motorola cell phone, here's what I've done and HASN'T worked - but I'm getting there....
I have USB cable for both the v60 and clie. I got two female-male USB extender cables and cut them, allowing me to fiddle with each of the four wires on the USB cable. No matter what I do, the phone and clie won't connect - the phone is expecting 5V to come along the USB power line, but there's no power from the Clie.
However, if you go to www.pspilot.de/pppclies/clieser.html, you will see that pin 10 on the Clie will output up to 5.5V to power peripherals! This must be the source of power that the phone is getting from the custom cables from supplynet, etc.
Now I've tried feeding pin 10 into the USB power line, but that had no effect, so now I'm stumped too. If anyone out there knows what I can do (aside from pay $100 CAD for a cable), I'm all ears!
Thanks,
Sameer

You will probably never be able to connect a current Clie to a phone that only has USB connections.
USB is set up using a host/peripheral model with only one host being allowed on the bus at a time. USB devices are typically hardwired as either a host or a peripheral - Clies are peripherals, so is the phone, and peripherals cannot talk to each other.
The phones work fine connected to PCs as the PC is a USB host and the phone is a peripheral.
The only way you could get this to work would be to have a device that acts as a host to both the Clie and the phone and acts as a go-between.
Future Clies may be able to connect to phones like this through the use of USB on-the-go which allows a USB device to act as a host or peripheral as the need dictates.
Splicing wires and connecting pins that you think should work will just cause frustration at the least and damage or destruction of your device(s) at the worst.

Yeah, you're right, *I* will not be able to. I actually think I know how it's done via a serial connection, but I just don't have the effort anymore or the right cable for the motorola
Maybe I'll just have to go buy a new t68i and T|T...

You can do it on a serial connection but USB-USB will not work when both devices are USB slaves as Sicarius pointed out. There must be something on the bus to act as a USB host. The NZ90 has a Phillips USB-to-go chip in it and has the potential to work but lacks a suitable driver.
I thought a lot about creating a "PDA router" that would allow you to connect USB to USB but the cost would most likely be $100-$200 and I doubt most people would want to spend so much. Hopefully one of the companies in Taiwan that specialize in USB connectivity will come up with a solution. Once this happens, I believe a supplynet cable will become available.
