The best FREE launcher is the built in Palm launcher.

IMO, the best free launcher is Crs-Launcher.

The best launcher is ZLauncher. Only $12US too.

The best free launcher is EasyLaunch (http://palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?sid=03C08A86-27C3-4F5D-B53D1A00925D90FA&prodID=8774). Only I know what button to push or graffiti area to swipe. This is good for security and speed.

There are about 29 apps/DAs that I can launch them this way straight in one push, tap, or stroke from anywhere. No need to go to the launcher screen to look for icons to tap on.

If I just want to listen to MP3 or make a quick calculation, a finger swipe over certain graffiti area will launch AudioCtrl DA or CalCal over the System Lockout Screen. Hence it bypasses the security, which is fine for these general purpose actions as I don't want to enter password for just to listen to MP3 or to calculate something anyway.  Just turn on the Clie, finger swipe, and enjoy it.

The main problem with free launchers is there isn't one, that I am aware of, that supports categorizing and launching apps on MS.
Crs Launcher and the default launcher will launch apps on MS, but not categorize them. I may be mistaken, but I don't believe Easy Launch supports launching apps on MS. For least cost and a superior launcher, ZLauncher at $12 is hard to beat. Another problem with Easy Launch, it that it can present a challenge for those of us with shaky memories to keep track of what buttons or swipes launch what apps.

True.  I wish the developer upgrades it to where it can launch apps from MS.  However, I won't complain about anything free, unless they ask me too.

I can relate to shaky memory.  That is why practice makes perfect.  Relating the button or swipe to the apps also help to jog the memory.  For example, to launch CallLookupDA, I assign it to Address button hold.  And anything that can be launched by EasyLaunch will be hidden from the main launcher screen.  The launcher screen looks cleaner and organized this way, no scroll bar to worry about.  That forces me to think and remember which button to push or what stroke to swipe.  So far I still remember all of those 29 finger maneuvering.  No one else know how to use my Clie but me.  It is very user unfriendly.  :D  How is that for security.  My wife still asks how to launch Bejeweled every time she wants to play it.

I agree that the default launcher has no category for apps in MS, which makes the screen clutter with all kind of app icons.  The 3rd. party launcher helps organize them.  In the case of Megalauncher (ML), the apps in MS can be blended in the same category as that of apps in RAM and ROM.  You can still tell the app origins by looking at the icons and their names.  ML puts a mark next to the apps (a computer chip for apps residing in ROM, a memory card for apps residing in MS, a dot next to their names if the apps are in MS, and none if they are in RAM).

Another good point about 3rd party launchers is their ability to hide and lock category for increase security and cleaner look, so you can enjoy looking at the clean background rather than a clutter screen with white background.  I use to not care about background.  Now, I don't want to go back after having this:http://www.cliesource.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=408&papass=&sort=1&thecat=506

Hi,

There are a few (very few indeed) good launchers for PalmOS. Try with GLaunch (http://www.freewarepalm.com/utilities/glaunch.shtml) or Launcher III version 2.2 (http://www.freewarepalm.com/utilities/launcheriii.shtml).

Cheers,
