Free update link on "my" page isn't working. Just takes me to a page listing all the other stuff I can buy (of which I already own a lot). And I am logged in.

Reported this to iambic Customer Service today. Awaiting their answer.

It was/is a simple link typo. Not sure if it's been corrected yet, but here's a workaround:
All you need to do is, mouse over the free upgrade link, copy link location to the clipboard, then paste the URL into the address bar of your browser, go to the end of the link and where it says "MAIL_4" change the 4 to a 5, and hit enter and the link works.

That worked for the download, but the new product of course requires a new code, of which they just got that system online recently (slight oversight?). (And I'd like to know why installing demo produced a message saying I was on day 12 of 15 when that's the first time I'd installed 5.0 after usign the REGISTERED version of 4.4 for months.) Anyway, the whole thing is working somewhat now (although the email with the activation code was blank - but it did show up on the special my iambic page).
seems like more of a bug fix/maintenance version to me. Thats great, but not sure why it has a new version number. Cant see any new features as such...good though so not complaining!

Yeah, I think it's all about the marketing because I see no new features (certainly nothing groundbreaking enough to call it 5.0). Now we have version number bloat.
I was thinking the exact same thing. Bug fixes don't justify a point release :(

That's why it's a free upgrade. That's why there aren't any new features listed.
There will be many improvements to come. Time just didn't allow for it.

"Techno Politically correct"? It just isn't accurate. It could have a side effect of making some question Iambic's motives (rightly or wrongly). It just doesn't seem at all necessary.

Just to toss in on overvalued two cents:
- I think this is a version release rather than a point release. A point release is e.g. going from 5.1 to 5.2 and bug fizes *do* justify a point release.
- The difference is important because often the software license allows free point release upgrades as but upgrade fees for new versions.
When I saw AGMail ver 5 I was expecting some significant feature improvements rather than the same stuff fixed. Like someday I'm hoping to be able to selectively delete mail from servers like Versamail lets me do.
End of two cents -- and I think I had some to spare, ;)
